Yvette Fielding's hair

I was watching Yvette Fielding on Celebrity Masterchef last night and her hair is a similar colour to mine. I asked DH if my hair looked as bad as hers and his response wasn't positive!

I've been dyeing my hair myself for quite a while and I love the colour when it's first dyed, but it fades such a lot over the month that my ends end up looking blonde. I don't think it's quite as bad as Yvette's as I'm sure hers was done ombre style on purpose.

What can I do about my ends fading and getting too light? I feel like I shouldn't be using peroxide on the lenghs at all, just dye, but you can't do that can you? I've been using L'Oreal Majirouge 7.43.
