Help me find a gorgeous dress please?

I'm going to a 'dress to impress' do next month (whatever that means) and I'd love a new dress. Have recently lost 2 stone and haven't worn a dress for ages because I felt so uncomfortable but I'm ready to take the plunge again.

I'm 5'2" size 12 with shortish dark red hair. Hate my chunky monkey legs but don't want anything toooo long and have pretty large boobage if that helps. Any ideas? Budget around £75

Have you looked at fit and flair dresses? Ones that nip nicely in at the waist and skim the hips? Dresses that are shaped like this will be flattering to the slightly chunkier of leg especially if they are knee length or an inch below and will balance out the boobage.

I have thought of that shape, its a completely new look for me as I've always gone for the 'pencil skirt' look but I'm not entirely sure it suits me anyway so I'm eager to look at other options!

Why don't you go to a big department store like House of Fraser and try some on. You could take some snaps and post them here for help?

I have a friend with the same height and build as you describe and she looks amazing in fit and flare dresses. I gave her a beautiful multiway one from jigsaw for her birthday one year and she loves it as it flatters her shape. I love this style too as it is very feminine and the skirt can be beautifully swooshy. I am not so keen on the shorter lengths in this style as they can look a bit teenage.

Another option you may like to try is a knee length wrap dress. They can be very forgiving to the body and look effortlessly stylish. Some are quite low at the cleavage so a cami could be worn under if desired.
