Stupid question about harem trousers

They are meant to be low in the crotch and in the bum, yes? As in, not fit right up there but be kind of saggy?

I've just got some and I keep standing in front of the mirror in them like a fool for ages. I can't decide if they look how they're meant to.

I'm not a fan of harems think they are unflattering ok to wear around the house and that's about it.

Sanity, well, I do like them –I think! – but haven't worn them before so am a bit unsure how they're supposed to look.

Mine aren't nearly as low as MC Hammer's. They're just a bit loose/low round the arse and crotch.
