How much sleep?

I am woefully bad about going to bed at a decent time which is just daft as I have always needed my sleep. I have found that since the DCs have got a bit older and their bedtimes are now 8.30/9 I stay up even later to get an evening. I also have a bad back (surgery in June) and that means my sleep is quite disrupted.

I feel shattered most of the time. And if I'm tired my eating isn't as healthy, and I don't get to the gym/for a swim etc. It has such a huge knock on effect. I was talking to someone last night who said she is in bed by 10pm every night otherwise she just can't cope. Got me thinking that perhaps I really ought to set a bedtime of say 10.30 and make sure I stick to it. I do feel heaps better if I sleep well.

So, inspire me with your bedtimes please.

I'm in bed before 10 every night. Always have done though.

We was talking about this at work the other week and literally everyone thought I was so weird! They all go to bed at 1 or 2 in the morning! And then get up at 7 for work. I wouldn't be able to cope with that.

If you feel you need more sleep then gradually go earlier, I've heard some people feel groggy and worse when they have had more sleep.

Usually between 11 and 11.30, up at 6.45 - I use a wearable band fitness tracker thing, and on work days my actual time asleep is normally around the seven hours mark. I have a colleague - a man in his 30s - who is in bed by 9.30 during the week.

I was wearing a fitness band to track my sleep but it was stressing me out as I wake up so often in the night and I was feeling depressed about my crap quality of sleep! (Much is caused by the back pain at the moment).

I have two young children who wake in the night but I still can't go to bed early. I'm rarely in bed before 11. I need some 'me time'... Though it means I'm constantly exhausted!

I really need my sleep - 8 hours at least. In the week, I'm usually asleep by 10.30 and alarm goes off at 6.15. I have been known to go to sleep at 9pm when especially knackered - sounds sad but I feel like a new woman the next day.

I also know some people who go to bed at 12 or 1am and get up at 6.30- 7 and I just don't know how they do it. I guess some people are just fine on 5-6 hours sleep - lucky them!

I look sooo much better if I can get ten hours! Grin

Yes in bed every night by 10, or 9.30 - up 7.30 ish. I'm not very productive in the evenings once DC asleep. To be fair I have preschoolers so I'm run ragged by the end of the day, so I focus on maintenance - SPF creams, water and sleep, as dressing well and spending time on makeup are out of the window. I can do all that once they are a bit bigger, and the rare occasions I have time!
