Going out for Friend's birthday, its in the night club, middle of May…evening meal etc..am I allowed to wear tights?? ( please say yes).
I'm tall so all dresses always come up short yet I think legs are the only feature in my body that's ok but not bare ( yet as they're still pale)…
HELP please, i was thinking black dress and black tights..but wont I look like a loser? All my friends are beautiful and size 10 and Im tallest, and not size 10 ( more 12/14)…and IF tights are ok i wanted to wear open toe shoes where do i get tights like that please

thank you

Of course you are! I hate my legs due to varicose veins from pregnancy, I don't go out in public without tights or leggings on.

You could go for footless tights which would work better with open toe shoes and paint your toenails to match your outfit.

I would go with 40 denier, 70 would be too thick and best worn with boots I find.

Any thinner and they end up laddered within 10 mins, though that could just be me

Black patterned or textured tights are nice, and look more 'dressed up'and less 'office' for evening.(not fishnet though!!)

Don't wear opaques. I think they look really strange in warm weather. Don't get me started on the girls I see wearing thick woolly tights on the hottest days in the summer. Why???

Also, who cares about the vein?? I bet nobody will notice. You're tall and slim, make the most of it!

I would go with 3/4 length leggings if you want to wear open toed shoes.
Dark tights and flesh toes? Just NO!

And if you want to get a bit colour on your legs then start using Garnier Summer Body or the Dove equivalent soon. Every other day should give your legs a nice glow.

I wear black opaques all year, my legs are covered in bruises from high dose steroids

Could you cover your vein with some make up? Vichy Dermablend works really well

M&S have these that would do the job

I have a similar problem with my legs and usually live in jeans, even in summer although sometimes wear capris with fake tan but am going to a wedding in October . What is the best "my legs but better" tights to wear please?

The OP isn't about veins, I said about veins and her comment was in response to that.

Of course you're 'allowed' to wear tights. Anyone who notices and cares enough to tell you you're wrong is the loser, not you.

I agree that footless tights would be good. You can get lovely ones in American Apparel or Tabio. Or stirrup ones, if you want a slightly different look.

I think black tights at this time of year look awful - sorry. And footless ones (or leggings) are a definite no...

Please don't put black tights with open toe shoes. It's one or the other.

I have the same problem. Whenever I want to wear a dress in summer I use Sally Hansen's airbrush legs, gives a nice colour and covers any blotches. Otherwise, just wear black tights!

Yeah I always wear tights too. I would go 40denier with some closed toed shoes or ankle boots :-)

I wore nude tights (with no toe seam) with open toe shoes for a wedding reception a month or so ago and you really couldn't tell I was wearing tights. Is that an option?

Why 'a definite no'? Confused Who says? Who decides when it's OK to wear certain tights and when it isn't?

I'm still happily wearing opaques. The fashion police have so far not apprehended me. It's not THAT warm (in the UK); certainly not warm enough to have bare legs when coming home from work at 7 or 8pm.

Only I totally agree with you, the fashion police haven't got me yet either. People should dress how they like, what they're comfortable in and sod the fashionistas rules.
