I've been using up a sample of Benefit something or other that gave a little sparkle to cheek bones but now need to buy something... Any recommendations? Do I trust the salesperson to recommend a colour? I have mid brown hair, green eyes and olive toned skin that tans well (yellow base I guess?) if that helps.

Are you planning to try out some colours? So it's not just a recommendation, you'll be able to see it...

And it's not just colour... do you want cream or powder? Cream tends to give a softer finish, powder tends to be a bit stronger. And of course, powder you need a brush to apply, if you don't already have one. Cream you can use a brush but can use fingers.

Don't choose based on no other make up plus trying blusher - you need a full face of the make up you usually wear, to see how it will look every day. I am guessing you don't wear much make up (?) so just whatever you usually use.

Personally, I love Nars powder blushers (have Orgasm for dressy occasions and Deep Throat for every day) but also do like Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge (creamy) - I have a pinky one that just gives a bit of a flush for low-make up days.

If I could only have one, I'd choose Nars Orgasm, but it's a bit marmite on this board so you may hate it...

Go for something as near to your natural 'flush' colour as possible. I'm guessing something a bit more apricoty in tone would be better than pinks? Or even a bronzer?

Im a SAHM so I hardly ever need more than a 'presentable' application of make up, I wear EL DW light day to day and the regular one for when I want to feel more 'made up'.

I tint my eyebrows and eyelashes so only wear mascara / eye liner occasionally. Unusually stick to a neutral base and brown for eye shadow, actually I wear the same combo every time, so boring but not brave enough to experiment!

My staple lipstick is Clinique blushing nude.

Well, I like Blush All Day by Mac for a really neutral look - but I'm not olive toned.

I would start by googling what you want, reading a few blogs and signing up to Make Up Alley to read reviews. Then go and try them in store.

My favourites are the aforementioned Blush All Day and Rockateur by Benefit. I also like Coralista by Benefit which is peachier.

I love Benefit's Rockateur too, Capn - it's my absolute favourite.

I also like Hervana, but could be a bit pink for the OP.

I've just looked on MUA for your lipstick, I think Blush All Day will look nice with it. It's very similar to Kate Moss Rimmel 08 lipstick (just giving the full name in case you fancy saving yourself a few quid Grin) which I wear near enough every day as a neutral but not cadaverous lipstick.
