Help. My arse is huge. I'm a size 8 on top but my bottom is slowly becoming a 14. I'm trying to feel more me again after having 2 babies but really struggling and everything I try on looks awful. I've tried style blogs but there are no blogs for us pear shaped ladies. Has anyone bought anything recently that makes them feel great? Links would be fantastic. I really need to sort out my wardrobe. Is there anything that's a big no no that should make its way into the charity shop pile?

Google "pear shaped body blog" and a few bloggers come up. Sorry, I can't do the link.

I'm a pear. I've spent my whole life fighting my shape. I've given up on jeans and trousers as I'm too self conscious to wear them. I do skirts, dresses with cardis and opaque tights. Flat shoes, as I can't walk in heels! Not great and I need to lose a stone. Sorry, not much help.

On bloody temperamental fecking iPad and it won't let me link. But Gap broken in straight chinos are good on me for summer. Have worn the last couple of summers. They're on sale atm, size down cos they 'grow' a lot over the day. I sew the pockets closed, those slanty pockets add unwanted inches to my hips. I bought some Zara jeans lately, similar shape, they're quite good too.

Being a pear can be a nuisance, but I think the reality is, it's as much of a nuisance as any other shape. Tops are easy peasy for us.
Try on try on try on. I dislike rules for dressing but I suppose the one I do keep is jacket/blazer length - not at your widest point, and it should go in at the waist. It becomes clear when you try on and look in the mirror.

Fitted A line skirts are best on me. Loads of fabric is Not Good.
Skinnies aren't the best but I do wear and make it (reasonably) work. A bit of extra height doesn't go amiss in jeans and trews (am 5'6" but relatively short legs) and a heel is an instant BMI reducer.

O'course I could be entirely deluded........

I'm a pear and wrap dresses look best. Any type of dress that's tight at the waist and flares out really.
Gap "real straight" jeans fit me quite well - other than that Not Your Daughter's Jeans from John Lewis are amazing but £££.

Think Marilyn Monroe. Boyfriend style clothes look awful; emrace your femininity.

I am a pear and since January have been weight training. Lots of work on my shoulders has worked wonders. I think I two ways, firstly my much nicer toned arms and shoulders draw the eye upwards and my shoulders now balance my bottom half better.
Also been doing leg presses and squats for England which means my pear shaped hips and thighs are now more toned and a nicer shape.
Why I didn't do this years ago I don't know!

Pear here - size bigger (at least) on bottom half and thunder thighs.

Recently loving peacocks straight leg jeans which are only £14!

Also Mary portas no brainer twist dress from house of Fraser
