Me: Right, listen, Mummy's going to do her mouth rinsing thing so I won't be able to say anything for 20 minutes, ok?
Her: Sure!
Me: Understand?
Her: OK Mum

1 min later...

"MUUUUUUM!!! Will you play hide and seek with me?"

"MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM!!!! I can't hear a word you're saying.
Right, I'm going to count to 20 and then you have to spit that out... 1, 2, 3, 4,..."

Me: mmm mmm mmm

(gets whistle and blows it in my face): "MUUUUUUUUUUUUM!!!!!! I'm going to count to 15 and then you have to spit it out... 1,2,3,4... "

"Mum, you don't look very beautiful with THAT in your mouth."

...

"MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM!!!! What does kidnapping mean?"

Etc.

Grin

Haha! Yeah, trying not to laugh and swallow it by mistake. She's 4.

My ds demands kisses and then announces 'that was a chocolate kiss/toothpaste kiss/porridge kiss/cheese kiss (or whatever was the last item to come into contact with his or my mouth). So that would be 20 mins of demands for an 'oil kiss' in my house, complete with dramatic wiping-mouth-with-back-of-hand action.

Sounds like my nearly 4 year old! Never a moment to yourself. I have to go to the toilet for some peace and even then that doesnt work!

My ds (age 3) discovered he can unlock the door from outside. No more peeing in peace. Midway through a pee the door gets flung open and 'ah, mummy, I missed you so much'.

You missed me so much? It's been 15 seconds!

Haha, it's all so familiar! Not sure if there's a solution but just wanted to say thanks for the reminder to do it today while DD's at nursery!

It's good isn't it? I swear by it now. Brilliant for hangovers, too when your mouth feels all dry qnd icky.

I think you are dreaming if you think a 4 year old won't need speaking to for 20 minutes and you're a better woman than me if you can keep anything in your mouth for that long

20 minutes? I can't do oil pulling for 10 minutes. . I find my throat becomes so dry and my jaw aches. Am I doing something wrong?
