I have seen a navy jumper by this brand in a local shop. Tried it on and fell in love but it is vaaaar expensive (for my budget) so it would be very much an investment buy. Before deciding whether to take the plunge I'd welcome any views on the quality/how they wash etc etc.
Thank you!

I have several items from them. They are okay quality but not superb. But I think they make nice and extremely wearable clothes. An oatmeal cardigan was my favorite a few years ago, such a clever cut, I wore it constantly. In the end, it bobbled a bit and started looking a bit shabby.

dixiejo I love cashmere and have worn all sorts. Mostly you get what you pay for. I bought a nice red cashmere jumper from Zara and six weeks later it's bobbly with holes in the armpits. It was pure cashmere but very thin.

Good byes are John Lewis - I've bought several cardies from them. M&S not quite as good.

Very best buys from T.Gillier. I've had a cardie for ten years, and there's no piling or holes. Also Brora. Go to the sales - their cashmere is worth every penny. Also have a Prada jumper - again, had it for years and it's still perfect.

Re: washing - some people suggest shampoo but I use ordinary washing powder, plus conditioner and a splash of vinegar in the final wash - it adds fluffiness! I machine wash in cold or lukewarm water on a gentle wash.

Dry it flat on a towel. Hang on soft hangers and put up some scented mothballs.

Hope this helps! Smile

Uni qlo have good cashmere - I handwash or very gentle machine wash in baby shampoo and dry flat. I then spray profusely with moth repellent and store in Brora bags.

Johnstons of Elgin is the best I have come across. I have had one Repeat cashmere jumper and the quality was ok.

I've got some Boden cashmere which is quite nice

Nicest cashmere I own is Eric Bompard, the quality is stunning and they wash really well. I use Woolite on a wool machine cycle. Must check out Brora.

Boden is ok quality though their styles tend to be a bit boxy.

Uniqlo is good for the price, I prefer the mens as I'm tallish.

Pure, Uniqlo and Brora. I recently tumble dried a brora cardi (accidentally and it is fine)

Pure cashmere or John Lewis, best I've found so far. Would like to try Brora but their prices make my eyes water

Brora, jonstons of Elgin or eric bompard, by a landslide. I own 12 pieces of brora knitwear (I just washed to put it all away) and some are five years old and still look new. Watch out for moths, one small hole in one of mine I will need to mend.
