Matalan Boyfriend Coat - anyone bought?

I bought this ( choice of grey/pink/lilac/navy) I went for navy

Would you wear it open ( take out the fugly silver press studs) or replace with clear ones ( within my sewing skills - just)

I can't wear it undone with the poppers visible

I have a similar issue on a different coat, the poppers are mahoosive. How do you take them out without ruining the fabric?
