Talk me out if it! I want a jumpsuit.

I'm 42 with an hourglass figure and massive knockers. But I really like the idea of a jumpsuit. For evenings in beer gardens, with a little gold bangle and..,

Stop me. Please.

No talking you out it here. I think they are lovely.

I'm an hourglass shape, but short. They make me look like a barrel. If they suit you though, go for it

I think they're ok if they're quite structured but too light a fabric and you're in pyjama territory

I have three. They are fab! Try on before you buy - some are great, some are... not so great. Agree re structure being important.

Try one on, in a dressing room that has a 360 degree view, I think they're incredibly unflattering, but then I remember them the first time around.

So long as you get a good cut, you'll look fab. Agree re the 360 mirror or HonestFriend.

I like the idea too. Im 43 with massive knockers. But I always think along the lines of:

Beer garden = beer = how do you go to the loo in a pub without it trailing on the floor? [eeew]

Which has prevented a purchase thus far.

I love a jumpsuit! I've just ordered this one from Mint Velvet:

Ah now Smarter, that's actually a VG point against the things. But I still hanker.

Might try a few on Grin

frankie I tried that one a few days ago. The trousers hang funny on me, almost like a hanging belly is expected to fit in there. I am tall, they also finished at a 'funny' lenght.
I do hope it will fit you beautifully, I really liked it...but not on me!

hmmm...might be returning it then which will 'save' me money (ahem).

Wore jumpsuits (had one turquoise, one red) in 1980/82 .Was much slimmer (9st) though not taller (5ft 3") then . Wore with very high heels, and legs rolled up abit, as I recall . I spilt lemon juice on the turquoise one in Crete on holiday in 1981, with now DH. It was never the same . Aaah memories.
They say everything comes round again

I also tried on the Mint Velvet one, looked bloody awful but I suspect that my body shape (Squat Beer Barrel?) was not built for such styles...

Am vicariously encouraging you to go for it, sassy, as am sure an hourglass figure would look great in a well cut jumpsuit

Two things:

Go for the most expensive you can manage.

Don't be suckered into anything floaty that needs pulling in / belting around the middle. This year's model is much straighter and more structured with no excess fabric.

Have fun in your search.

smarter than I'm with you, how do you go to the loo in them?

Jumpsuits not too dissimilar from a onesie really.

I like them. A friend wore a flowery one to a wedding and looked fab.

I could never wear that mint velvet one myself. It would look like a boiler suit in me.

Those dressy sleeveless ones are better.

Love jump suits but alas I am only 5'2" and they all seem to me made for giants.

PurpleWithRed · 27/01/2015 09:18

That mint velvet one would, IMHO, look like a boiler suit on anyone. And the whole rolled-up-trousers and high heel thing gives me the rage.

Wearing one is almost certainly going to lead to toilet accidents or near misses when drunk. And wouldnt it be hard for it not to trail on the floor in such circumstances?

I have just tried that Asda one on in store I am size 14/16 5ft 6 it was horrendous no other word for it I scared myself when I looked in the mirror.

I can honestly say it's been a long time since I tried anything on quite so unflattering Grin

I didn't buy it in case you were wondering Blush

Well, I am 39, 5'4" with 34F bust and this one looks pretty good if I do say so myself alright on me

It has boning in top to help it keep it's shape and a good zip so pub loo floor shouldn't be too much of an issue.

I never thought I'd wear a jumpsuit out but I've just ordered this one and it's actually quite flattering - it hides all the bits I currently hate quite well. I think I might give it a go on Saturday night.
