Dry cleaning kits...anyone ever used one?

I bought one ages ago but havent got round to using it. Actually just decided to dunk my dress in water and it did come out fine. However i just bought a mint velvet trapeze dress in black and have just realised that it is dry clean only ggrrrr...very annoying. Have had my eye on it for ages too.... I am already worrying about washing it ha ha...i do love it. Just cba with dry cleaning!

I've never used one, but I'm currently reading India Knight's Thrift Book and she raves about the Lakeland dry cleaning set which you use with your tumble dryer.
