Have any of you bought from Wool Lovers?

Their prices seem so reasonable but something tells me their clothes might be frumpy? I also suspect their smallest size (S) will be large on me. I am a very petite (as in short) size 8/10. They charge for delivery and returns so I am reluctant to buy to try. What do you think?

Well I have ordered seven things from Woolovers, and I loved four of them. One I sent back as it looked terrible on me (but it was a "unisex" item and my figure is very, erm, womanly, so maybe that's it) and two others I kept but shouldn't have as never wear them.

So hit and miss for me.

I love their cotton / silk mix fabric. Haven't tried the cashmere / merino.

Have had no issues with the quality.

Depends what you buy - some of the things are hideously frumpy, but I've bought some jumpers from there & they are fab quality. Check the sizing though - the womens stuff seems to run true to size but unisex stuff is huge!

I bought a cardi recently. It seems very good quality for the price. The sizing seems quite generous so you may find a small a bit big for you.

Dh has clothes from there are the quality is good

They give very detailed garment measurements so I'd do as they suggest and measure a well fitting jumper you own and compare

I would describe it as "classic". But it is great quality and very good value. I have three Woolovers jumpers, and one in particular (Moss Stitch jumper in merino wool) I wore to death last winter.

So nothing cutting edge style-wise, but if you are after a basic cardi or a good quality jumper to wear with jeans I can certainly recommend them.

But if you are small avoid the unisex styles because they are massive. I have a Guernsey in XS and it is plenty roomy on me, and I'm 10/12.

I have a couple of their cashmere and merino blend items. They machine wash well but do bobble, however it's easily tidied up with a cheap bic razor.

The moss stitch jumper is a brilliant buy as are the cropped cardigans and cashmere/merino hoody. The hoody is sized quite small so you should be fine with that.

I have several of their v-necked silk/cotton cardigans which I wear a lot. They wash well.

I'm size 10 & wear Small - quite close-fitting when button up

I've just ordered an Aran cardie * from there, but it's not arrived yet. There was a free delivery offer and I succumbed. I suspect it might be vast.

  • yes, I know that makes me sounds like and old fogey, but my house gets cooooollllllldddd and it's just for schlumphing about at home.

My cardie is here, hurrah! It's certainly well made, and very very heavy. It's only a bit Nanna, but I will rock it all the same. And be very warm doing so.

I'd Def buy something else from there based on my purchase.

That's great IScream. What size are you normally and what size did you order? Any chance of a photo?

I have two of the silk/cotton v-necked jumpers, and two of the silk/cotton vests. They're lovely, though I wish the straps of the vests were further apart, as they are nowhere near my bra straps.

I also have two of the cashmere/merino jumpers, which are brilliant. I can't say how they wash yet, as I've only just got them, but I have worn one of them to work this week, and it kept me toasty :)

I had ordered the cashmere/merino crew-necked cardigans too, but while they were lovely material and fabulous colours, they were far too wide in the body for me so I had to sent them back :(

My measurements are 33/27/37 (30E bust) and I have wide shoulders. I usually wear a size 8 (sometimes 10) elsewhere. The Woolovers size small is great for me for the vests and jumpers, but the cardigans are a lot wider.

They do have garment measurements on the website, so I recommend measuring a jumper you have that fits you well, then comparing to the measurements of the items you are interested in.

Two - I bought the Aran cardie; I'm usually a 10-12 on my top half and I bought a med. It's a loose ish fit, but that is what I want, as it's to wear as the outermost of a few layers! I think the Aran would come up bigger than other anyway. I'd probably go for a med if I were to buy another.

Ilona mentioned the dimensions of the jumper that were quoted on site, and I found that quite effective to get an idea of fit, and quite accurate once I checked it against he actual garment.
