Are they true to size please?

I've found in recent years they're not. I used to but 38s (and generally a 4 and a half) but am now down to 36s.

Golly, that is a big difference. Thanks.

Oh I've always found them spot on - 35 - little feet alert!

Always true to size for me and I have been wearing them for many years

If you buy too small, they will not be comfortable

They look big at first glance, but believe me the footbed is a miracle of modern engineering Smile

I've been wearing them for years and always buy my regular size. It is very important that your foot sits properly in the footbed. If they are even slightly too small your heel won't sit properly.

I find them extremely comfortable.

They are massive. I'm a 4, so a 37. There's about 3 extra inches in a 37 on me.

I wear 35's and the narrow fit. The normal fit is huge and flappy on me.

AF I'm curious - as a fellow wearer of the burkie faithfuls, do you stick to the same style? Or have you dabbled with others?

Yes, don't think of them as sandals, more as shoes. Your toes and heels should not touch the rim of the dish, when standing still, which will give room for movement when you're walking around.

Actually, I am either a 38 or 39 in European sizing, depending on he shoe, and I go for a 39 for Birkenstocks.

I've been wearing them for years and have old 38s that are still fine, but new 36s which are also fine! And they're the same style, too, so not sure what's going on with my feet.

I only wear Arizona regularly for comfort. I simply buy the same pair of brown leather ones when the previous pair wear out after 3-4 years.

I have a pair of Madrid but don't find them that nice to wear

I've had Gizehs and Arizonas but this year I bought the Tabora style and I really like them.

I find the sizing enormous on Birkenstocks. Mine are a size 3 (and I usually take a 5). Even the size 4 was gigantic - like wearing your dad's shoes when you were a kid, complete with not being able to tighten them enough so they stay on your feet. And I bought them on a hot afternoon while heavily pregnant with seriously swollen feet.

That said, I do not find the moulded footbed comfortable. It worse on the foot with the higher arch (and my arches are pretty high on both feet). At best I end up with blisters where there's too much pressure at a particular point; at worst I end up with episodes of plantar fasciitis, which is no fun at all. I assume that the footbeds are carefully designed for people with different shooed feet from me.

I'm a 4 and always wear 37 in all types.

I love the gizeh but am tempted by the tabora although it's the ankle steps that put me off.

I'm usually a 39 but buy a 38 in Birks. Agree that the footbed is awesome - I can walk for miles in mine.

I've always had to size down in Birkenstocks. I wear a 37 in other shoes, but always a 36 in Birkenstocks. I bought mine from the Covent Garden store and as far as I can remember, the staff recommended sizing down from your usual size.

I'm a 4 and always need 37. Just bought some Florida ones in narrow fit - they're pretty loose on me and I don't have particularly dainty feet. I once made the mistake of getting some in a 36 and they were never truly comfortable.

£30 is indeed a bargain, fair play.
Won't fit my paddle feet though Grin

Watching a pair on eBay at the mo for a tenner. Will someone else's feet have 'moulded' them already though?

Seriously skint since my van has just cost me £550 in repairs.

I size down one size and used to work in a shoe shop and this is what we advised. The pair I have now is 5 yrs old so they may have changed of course.
