Need a bridesmaid dress for a 10 year old that looks like Elsa from Frozen but is still bridesmaidy - can anyone offer suggestions?

I hope the title says it all...

DD (9.5) has been asked to be a bridesmaid in early September. She is very excited. The bride wants her 2 adult bridesmaids and DD to have the colours/style of Elsa's dress in Frozen once she comes into her power (like the pic attached).

I don't know what the 2 adult bridesmaids are having, but DD was given her dress tonight and it turns out to be a Disney Store character dress for a 7-8 yr old. She is tall and wears 10yr old's clothes - which I did tell the bride, but apparently that was the largest they could find. It is too short and too tight across the chest, plus as the groom helpfully pointed out, it looks "like a costume, not a bridesmaid dress".

The bride is stressing massively over other bits of the wedding so I told her not to worry, I would sort it out. Now, I am not made of money so cannot afford the gorgeous £150+ cosplay dresses on Etsy that would be perfect for her. Plus they all seem to come from China and I am very wary of buying from there when the dress will be needed for the first week of September (especially as they are custom made), in terms of delivery time and also quality.

I found a lovely-looking dress that with a bit of gussying up would make a great Frozen-style dress, but having researched the website it seems to be a UK front for a Chinese operation. Again, I don't want to run the risk of the dress coming late.

Can anyone recommend a UK based dress company that won't cost the earth?

I'm also considering finding/using with an independent dressmaker, but don't know how much this would be - and could they do it in 2 months? I've never used one before so I don't know if I'm being realistic or not.

I can afford about £80 tops, as I also have to buy shoes and tights and get her hair done.

Also if anyone knows a good dressmaker that covers the East London/Essex area I'd love to hear from them! :)

Where are the adult ones coming from? Could the same supplier provide a younger style? When I got married I had a few wedding magazines with ads for dress companies, and they would show, for example, a certain colour with 4 or 5 different styles of dresses made for different ages, i.e. adult, young teen (maybe your daughter?) and flower girl. That way you could get the "same" but different to suit all the bridesmaids.

2 months is plenty of time, although many dressmakers will be busy as it's prime wedding season.

How girly is your DD? On FB I saw twirls and giggles tutus which does a elsa style long tutu dress. She is in canada but it might be worth contacting her.

Celia the adult ones are coming from America, apparently they did not do child sizes. They are not here yet, the website link she sent me for colours etc for matching did not work. This isn't sounding good, is it...?

That's my worry regarding wedding season. If a dressmaker is any good, he/she'll be mad busy right now.

DD is relatively ungirly but she does love a twirly dress, especially if it's not pink. Thanks for the tip, HerRoyal, I will check it out.

You could try a cosplay costume if you wanted it to be recognisably 'Elsa' or go for the same colour in a long style.

The bride to be has said that DD can choose which one she likes best, and has plumped for the one on ProfYaffle's link. Unfortunately the bodice on that one does not come lined, and DD needs a lining or she will be fidgeting and shuffling about even more than normal all day, so I am going with HerRoyal's suggestion of Twirls n' Giggles - the dress is almost the same and the lady who runs the FB page had some great suggestions of how she can customise it to make it less 'frou'.

Now I just need to find shoes....

Fram they are beautiful! I'm ordering them whether the bride likes them or not (can always hop to BHS for trad shoes if needs be), DD thinks they're splendid :o
