Do you prefer hot cloth cleansing to other methods

I have sensitive skin and am wondering if this is the best way to cleanse. I think the cloths could be a gaff though.

No - the hot cloth method irritates my skin and gives me spots along my jawline. I really like the products (especially Liz Earle), but my skin doesn't respond well to the actual 'polishing' - it's too harsh. Now I just gently apply a cleansing cream/lotion with my fingers and rinse it off.

Same as holmes here - I much prefer using a cream cleanser, but my skin is too sensitive for the actual polishing. I use cream cleanser and wipe off with cotton wool.

I certainly prefer it but it doesn't suit everyone.

The idea of using cleanser and cotton wool makes me feel a a bit icky, cotton wool gives me the heebie jeebies.

I really love it. I have dry/dehydrated skin and my face is loads less flaky than it used to be when i used cleanser and cotton wool. Skin looks more glowing and 'plumped up'too.

I love it. I use a flannel instead of the muslins provided. It exfoliates my skin and makes it really smooth and healthy looking.

I do - much prefer the muslin cloth to cotton wool or flannel
And the cloths last ages
Wash in a batch so much cheaper and hygienic

My skin is sensitive and I use pretty much any oil and a hot flannel.

I have very sensitive skin and use Dr Hauschka cleansing cream. It is a gentle exfoliant and also very moisturizing. I really recommend it, also great for smoothing lips so lippy looks fab

if by "hot cloth" you mean face cloth/flannel then yes.

I use a creamy cleanser and a hot flannel - it's great.

It's too irritating to do it every day in my case so I do it once a week and use micellar water the rest of the time.

Not a boiling flannel, and not always a balm but cleanser plus flannel - yes

Er, what is this method? My skin's dry and sensitive, and I'm currently using soap plain old soap and water followed by Aveeno cream. It's seeming fine, but I'm curious about this method....?

I'm 37, so beginning to think about looking after my skin more carefully/investing in a more expensive cream, maybe with SPF, but I cannot stand scented creams, etc. or too much greasiness....who'd this work for me do you think? Any advice??

Gerbo-using soap is probably why you have dry skinGrin

It's just a fancy way of describing washing your face with a cloth.

Massage your cleanser of choice into your skin.
Remove (gently) with a cloth that's been soaked in warm/hot water.

I haven't had any blackheads or flaky skin since switching to this method. I have dry skin and washing my face with soap would make it even drier.

Damediazepam....you're probably right! I just hate the greasy feeling cream cleansers leave and haven't used one in years.

So do you use oil on your face-rub it in?! Ten wipe over with hot damp cloth?

No, another spots along jawline person with hit cloth.

And not just spots huge pus filled boils when I don't usually even get a pimple.

Yes here too, my skin looks better than it ever has. I just use sweet almond oil, or extra virgin olive oil if I run out.

I warm the coconut oil up between my palms, rub it into my face (and watch my make up pretty much melt off) and then use a hot flannel to clean it off, rinsing it in between rubs, if you get what I mean.

Coconut oil here too, or any oil that comes to hand. I use a hot cloth then lay it over my for a while then gently remove makeup. Repeat as necessary.

I used to, but then I got a clarisonic which I use with johnsons foaming cleanser and it's completely transformed my skin. I use it every second day, then coconut oil to moisturise.

Nope - I like a creamy cleanser with chemical exfoliant, much nicer to my skin. I need water to feel clean though, would never just use a cream cleanser without splashing it off. Or an emulsifying oil cleanser if you like oils, Shu Uemura do amazing ones but I haven't found any cheap versions as good.

Currently loving Peaches and Clean - the Dr Hauschka one mentioned sounds good too.
