Epilation - which epilator should I go for?

I have a cheap old epilator that i've been using over the winter. It does the job but i wondered if you spend a bit on a decent one does it make a difference?

I think i'd like a wet/ dry rechargeable one what else is worth looking out for?

Oooh yes marking my place, used a really old one for a while a couple of years ago but went back to shaving, am sick of it again though so tempted to invest in a nice new one!

I have a Philips wet and dry one. I can't link as it's an older one but assuming their new ones are similar I'd recommend it. I use it in the bath which makes a big difference to pain levels. LoVely open pores and straight into warm water for soothing too. It also has a little light that sounds like it would be a stupid thing to need but is surprisingly good and usefulness!

I have the phillips wet and dry one and wouldn't recommend it. The power on it from fully charged isn't enough to do both legs, which is SO frustrating. I also found it pretty useless in the shower.

Really? My Philips one has plenty of charge for both legs - and I have a lot of dark, thick hair so it's not a quick job!

Same here, the Philips wet and dry doesn't charge enough to do both legs properly in the bath.

I end up using mine while it's plugged in - not while I'm in the bath though, obviously.

It sounds as though wet and dry is worth it then. Philips seams popular with mixed reviews. Thank you. Its all food for thought.

The more you spend the more bells and whistles you get, but are any of them necessary?

What about exfoliation?

I have a braun silk epil (7?) and it's pretty good. I don't have much to compare it to apart from my old one (years old) and it's miles better than that

I got this Braun Silk one recently and I really like it. It comes with a basic head, a head with massaging spikes that are meant to make it less painful (I think) and a little head for bikini line.

I haven't used one before so I can't compare though.

I have a Braun and a Philips. The Braun I paid a bit for and it just couldn't grab hairs as short as it claimed. Also I found it only good on taut skin. It was far too rough and grabby for my bikini no matter which epilation head I used.

So I got a Philips and it is better on softer areas eg top of thigh. Battery lasts me long enough for both bottom legs. But still can't get the hairs as short as I'd like.

Oh thats interesting the braun silk linked in companioncubes post is much cheaper in argos than boots.

I could use my current one for more sensitive areas.
