Mascara - do you do top and bottom lashes?

I have maveric eyelashes - the bottom ones are long , the top ones average.
So if I wear top and bottom, I look -to quote my DSis- that I have my eyes on upside down Hmm

In the past, I used to wear a coloured mascara on the bottom but I can't do that now.

If I wear on both, I have the Doll Eye Look.

I did think, dye them and wear mascara on the top as I usually do, leave the lower ones just dyed.
Or is there a miracle mascara that I need?

(Eyelash extensions aren't a option, and I use curlers already)

I watch all these beauty videos that say you should (in their opinion)

My eyes are dark but I want to give a bit more oomph.
Mascara on the bottom eyelashes always seems to smudge too

I always do both. It would not have occurred to me to just do the top.

I always do top and bottom too - I'm envious of your lashes. Mine are stubs too and bottom Hmm

I don't do the bottom ones, I look like a doll if O do! They are very long naturally, but I do fond a little transfers onto them when I put it on the top lashes.

I always do just the top as my bottom lashes are longer than my top ones. I do a flick with mascara which gives it a clean look ; doing the bottom lashes drags my eye line down (and my eyes are round enough as it is !!) and smudges which emphasizes my under eye shadows :(
It's a shame really ,I love love the eye makeup all round the eye look !!

Not a flick with mascara ,lol ,I do a flick with liquid eyeliner on top and add a bit of mascara

Top only.

I read somewhere years ago it was probably in my Jackie mag that it "opens" up your eyes if you just do the top, and I haven't bothered with the lower lashes for years.

Daft really; I have fairly big eyes to start with.

Top only most of the time, I also only do them from underneath, never on top. Mine are dark and I use lengthening rather than volumising mascaras so it doesn't matter if I don't get right to the roots.

I've only ever done the top for years - I have long lashes, and doing the bottom now makes me look like a clockwork orange.

Aso, yes, less smudging when you don't do the bottom.

I've recently stopped going my bottom lashes as I end up with panda eyes.

I do the bottom lashes to hide the bags.

If you can be bothered with the faff, use a lengthening mascara for the top and a different one for the bottom (Clinique bottom lash mascara just colours them I think rather than lengthen).

Or splash out on estee lauder two tone eye opener which has two wands, one for top, one for bottom lashes.

Have you tried doing the "push eyeliner" thing with a flat topped brush, pushing eyeshadow into the base of your lashes from the top? Doesn't do anything for the length but definitely makes them look thicker and more oomph-y.

The Bourjois Intuitive liner (the one with three little prongs) pushed into the roots of the top eyelashes from underneath helps add extra emphasis too.

I use an interdental brush (like a tooth pick with bristles) to apply mascara on my lower lashes. I find it gives colour without over loading the lashes and making them look bulkier. I'm also a fan of clear mascara for bottom lashes in the daytime. Gives subtle definition.

I have the same problem, so...I trim the bottom lashes. Seriously-try it (carefully) It makes your eyes look much more defined.

No, only the top ones. Bottom ones looks like a doll imo and a bit 70's.

I only do the top ones, I only tend to wear makeup at work and have problems with smudgy mascara under hot lights with doing just the top, I'd go proper panda eyes if I did the bottom ones too. If I'm going out I'll put clear mascara on the bottom ones but for normal days can't be bothered.

i only do my lower lashes for high days and holidays....they are spider leg long, but very fair at the ends ...but it is a bit doll face when they are done

Top lashes are quite thick and long and get two coats, special attention to the outer corner ones, SueEllen from Dallas stylee!

Do those of you who don't do the bottom lashes all have dark hair/lashes? I have blonde hair & lashes and would look v weird if I did top lashes only!

Yes, mine are dark.
