I was wearing long boots today and I was perfectly comfortable, they are certainly not what I'd call cold weather footwear, more fashion wear....come the cold weather, you'll find me in proper warm thick soled footwear, thermals, wool, cashmere and a down filled coat. Smile

I wore them today. My legs are fine, no heatstroke or anything.
Who is "we" btw?

Me too. I'd rather be too warm than too cold.

It was so warm today. I ended changing out of my long sleeve top into a vest top. Loads of people out in coats and scarves - they must have been baking.

People feel the same temps differently.

During the height of summer I was out with a friend. I was sweating in a vest top and shorts and she was warm but comfortable in TWO pairs of black leggings a thick, lined dress with thin 3/4 length sleeved top underneath.

She wasn't flushed so clearly was not too hot. She is always the first to start feeling cold

Agree everyone feels it differently - I saw lots of winter clothing today but no one looked like they were overheating. I'm a warm person so still in dresses/skirts and bare legs.

I'm always surprised when people assume that everyone can afford (or chooses to spend their money on) multiple pairs of footwear. I wore boots today (short this year) as it was a choice between them and sandals. I wonder who cared?

You can notice things without caring about them.

I wore ballet pumps today and my feet were freezing. I was looking enviously at other people's knee high boots.

I wore boots today. I left the house at 8am, it was cold. By 3pm it was warm, but I was 30 miles from home so couldn't exactly nip inside and change out of them.

You may well say 'ah, but you could have checked the weather forecast', but 38 years of experience tell me that its never a reliable indicator, therefore I dress for how the weather is at the time I get dressed. Its not perfect, but it hasn't killed me yet.

It's suppose to be even warmer tomorrow! I won't do what I did today and get dressed in dress, tights and cardy and then have to get changed an hour later! Even my dh said he felt wrong wearing shorts in October!

I'm still wearing flip flops.. Too hot for boots.

I has on cigarette trousers and loafers. The woman up the road was wrapped up in a Puffa jacket and Uggs, I think she must have been poorly all her DC had shorts and T-shirts on.

I haven't even got my winter clothes out yet.

At this time of year I'd rather go out and be warm in boots than okay at first in sandals but suddenly freezing when the weather inevitably changes or it gets to late afternoon and cools down fast.

I put my leather boots on to walk the dog this morning. My legs were very hot.

Went to a kids party this afternoon, blazing sunshine and a gaggle of teenage girls had their trendy wellies on. Now they must have been hot. So glad I'm not a fashion victim anymore. just fashion disaster

I'm still wearing fit flops, only wearing trainers for walking the dog in the morning as the grass is still wet, and I feel all trussed up after fit flops for 6 months.

LOVING that it's still so warm, kind of makes up for the darker nights

Boots weather starts in September for me. I find ballet pumps and sandals at this time of year most strange.

Ankle boots might be fashionable, but they look crap on 90% of people

I was in central London yesterday. There were all sorts of shoes; from flip flops (& shorts) to full on winter boots & everything in between.
It was very odd.

I can't stand wearing boots when it isnt cold. I'm with you op.

The only issue is that skinny jeans look awful on me without them. It means that there is practically nothing I can wear. ..

Weather in this country is weird. It's October, I'm wearing shorts. It can be miserably cold in July and roasting at Easter. The 'only wear sandals when there's not an r in the month' school of thought is nuts.
