What is all this BB business?

What is BB stuff? I went to boots the other day and literally every cosmetic range had some kind of new BB product or other. Can someone explain it to me please as I seem to have lived fine without it so far!

It's like a tinted moisturiser. Best one imo is the Botanics one.

But I have tinted moisturiser - why do I suddenly need a BB one?

Good question. IMO there is no difference between a BB cream and a tinted moisturiser with an SPF in it.

All I know is that Garnier stuff looks good on days when I don't want to look like I'm wearing makeup.

I bought the boots botanics bb cream after reading about it on here. It's really good, lasts well and gives really good coverage.

So what the heck is cc cream?

CC cream supposedly has extra skin care benefits-what they are depends on the specific cream in question.

I bought a bobby brown one (it's very good) but I thought the bb stood for bobby brown... Clearly not!! What does it stand for then?

I thought it was beauty balm, but don't take my word for it...

BB/CC and DD creams are basically just tinted moisturisers.

The Asian ones are supposed to be really good (and some even have goodies like snail slime in) and are not just tinted moisturisers, but the Western ones are just tinted moisturisers.

BB (blemish balm/base, beauty balm, beblesh balm) ones have SPF - but then again, so do a lot of classic tinted moisturisers. And some people say that we don't use enough of the product to get the correct protection from makeup - I think we're actually supposed to use 7 times as much product to get the correct protection from tinted moisturiser/foundation.
I have one from Estee Lauder - it's fine, but it's just a tinted moisturiser with SPF - and I use SPF under it anyway.

CC are colour correcting. It's supposed to be a BB cream that deals with uneven skin tone better. I have one from Nip&Fab, and it deals with it by just sitting on top of the skin as an orange film. A product that works seems to be better than a new product with a fancy name.

DD stands for different things depending on the brand. It's basically a CC cream with anti-aging stuff in.

Personally, I'd rather spend the money on a couple of different products that each do one thing well instead of a product that do different things not so well. But that's just me.

Sunscreens (unless they are the all-day type) should be reapplied regularly, and how many people reapply their foundation/BB cream/tinted moisturiser every 1-2 hours? Hmm Cosmetics containing SPFs are just gimmicks IMO, just a way to get women to go "Oooh, that sounds good doesn't it, I'll buy some" Angry God I hate the beauty industry marketing BS Angry
