Down coat for 18month old

Can anyone please recommend me a place to buy a down jacket for my 18mo dd? The only one that I have found in her size is by Spotty Otter and its perfect in every respect apart from the £85 price tag. Lots of places do down jackets for kids but the smallest sizes seem to be age 3-4yrs which would swamp her.

If anyone has seen one or managed to get one last year can you point me in that direction.

Gap tend to have them in every year. Had one for my son each winter and they are fab.

Second Gap as I've bought from there for my DS, but also sure I've seen them in tk maxx in past winters.

Thanks for the suggestion of GAP. I think I'll have to wait until later in the year as I only saw hollow fibre filled ones when i looked in there last weekend.

Columbia at Tiso online for example, do a down filled snow suit, might do a coat on its own, worth checking. My daughter had the snow suit last year. Very cosy and super cute.

Gap and tk maxx. Got some amazing ones last year for £30. With down hood- some Italian make in TK.

Thank you all so much for the suggestions, you far better at finding them than I was. I will keep checking tk maxx but ours has a very poor selection of coats but the one near my parents is much better. I'll keep the trespass one in mind and also keep checking Gap to see if they get any down coats in.

Haven't Gap stopped doing down coats? They've replaced it with the primaloft stuff. You could buy a warmest jacket on eBay though. They do wear pretty well.

I've had several of the down coats for dc and they're good but rubbish in the rain so I agree with BikeRunSki tbh.

I have had a few down jackets for me, and I am.much cleaner than my dc. Down is hard to look after and useless when wet. Unless you live somewhere extremely dry and extremely cold I would recommend a synthetic down rather than natural down. Modern synthetic down is fantastic, easily machine washable and fluffs up beautifully and quickly. The Little Trekkers website has all sorts of stuff for keeping little ones warm and dry.

Thank you for all your comments and suggestions. I received a Gap 30% off discount voucher today so thought I'd check their website again and they've just added a down fill coat so I ordered one which was £25 with the discount. I appreciate what you're saying BikeSkiRun about the care of down coats and this was one of the reasons that I didn't want to spend £85 on it. I'll see how it works this year and it may well be the only down coat my children have, but at least it was a bargain!
