What does reasonably priced mean to you?

Tk maxx sometimes have some nice suits. Can be a bit hit and miss though.

M&S do some decent ones if you want off the peg, but you need to go to one of their larger stores.

How old is the suit wearer? Next do cheep trendy ones, but DH is too old for such things these days.

If you mean mans suit defiantly a large M&S.

Woman's a big debenham's or other good dept store.

Hi suit for a woman, age 30, size 8

Last ones I got were from Reiss and Zara but did not wear very well. Looking for something around that price bracket but better quality if possible.

I was about to start a thread on the same subject. I have a Next suit that's looking tired but I'm specifically looking for a brown suit as black does nothing for me. Also size 8, mid 30s here. Sorry to thread hijack!

Unfortunately M&S often don't do size 8.

Try Banana Republic or Jigsaw or Hobbs? Banana Republic stores are great as the sales assistants will actually make helpful suggestions, go and fetch alternatives, and are knowledgeable about their stock - fairly classic, good quality and good mix of trousers/skirts/jackets/dresses...

Jigsaw or Hobbs sale.

Jigsaw definitely. One benefit is that they use the same basic fabric (fine wool) every season so if you buy a basic colour (black/grey/navy etc) then you can update with a new skirt or something and if eg the lining goes on a jacket you can get a new one that will match existing trousers/skirt etc which I think makes it much better value. You can also use one jacket with several different style skirts/trousers so you can effectively have several suits. Some of my suit pieces from there are 6ish years old and still looking good (and match ones bought last year). I'm a size 8 and 31yo.

I always find something I like at //www.austinreed.co.uk

I second Hobbs, they tend to do one machine washable suit per season which I buy (cannot be bothered with dry cleaning as I wear a suit all day every day = lots of cleaning!). They wear and wash really well.

I always found Hobbs skirts too short (am tall) so stopped looking there. I do Jigsaw.

Shows how sexist I am..I presumed suit for a man. Blush

In my defense DH lives in a suit and I never wear one for work.

Ah yes, that's a good point about Hobbs, they probably are a bit on the short side if you're tall. I'm 5'3" and they are fine

I have one from Massimo Dutti that still looks good after 5 years.

I agree that Hobbs skirts are short - I'm not tall and used to wear them when younger and slimmer but couldn't get away with them now - at OPs age and size she'd probably be OK up to, dunno, 5'6"?

My best suits are from the Jaeger outlet - they were very reasonable & the materials are so much better than M&S or Hobbs so have worn very well. I find M&S shapeless. Like Jigsaw but quality not so good for the money e.g. trousers not lined.
