Celtic Sheepskin Boots or Uggs?

SneezySnatcher · 26/12/2012 20:47

My lovely family have given me some Christmas money. As I'm 26 weeks pregnant I've decided I'd like some boots that I know will fit rather than getting clothes which won't for a while (if ever)!

I've had my eye on Uggs for ages but I've also seen the Celtic sheepskin boots which look lovely too. I spotted these www.celtic-sheepskin.co.uk/footwear/womens-footwear/sheepskin-boots/rugged-supertread-boots/ which look practical, but I also like the classics www.celtic-sheepskin.co.uk/footwear/womens-footwear/sheepskin-boots/classic-sheepskin-boots/

Any opinions or experiences of the Celtic or Ugg boots? I know they're a bit 'marmite' but I think they look so comfy and I'll soon have two DC to chase so that's what appeals.

I live and die in my Uggs after years of resisting having any due to them being ugly! They're just too comfy to say no to! I have to say though I think the Celtic Sheepskin ones are even comfier and that's what I'll be getting when my faithful Uggs finally die (three years and counting). A friend has just got the Aqualamb Celtic ones because their waterproof and she wrecked her last pair chasing DS through the park when it was wet and muddy on a daily basis and she swears by them. Hope that helps! x

I have 2 pairs of celt boots, a short brown pair and a long blue pair, as well as slippers! I love them. They have good soles and support at the ankle so they don't collapse like uggs can. I have never had uggs so couldn't compare. My celts have been through mud and rain and years of abuse and always recover, plus they can go in the washing machine!

My hubby brought me some Uggs this Christmas and Emu boots 2 years ago which are brilliant. Very comfy and still good as new.

DD1 has Uggs which have died after great use over a couple of winters. I brought her Celtic boots for yesterday and they fit her so much better and just as fluffy. Smile

Nobody around here is wearing Uggs anymore - I haven't worn mine either. (Last winter I saw them even on socialites.)

Celts are good solid boots, so buy them if you like them. I have a pair of their houseboots and wear them indoors. They survived a wash and are very warm on icy floors.

I've got Uggs and Celtic Sheepskins, I personally think the Celtic Sheepskins are much better made and more snuggly than Uggs. Although I did put my Uggs on the other day and sort of go "ahhhhhh" probably because they are older and softer, like a pair of favourite slippers!Xmas Grin

Very persuaded to get the Celtic boots now! Does anyone have the 'rugged' ones or just the classic?

What's the sizing like with the Celtic ones?
They don't look to do half sizes so is it better to go up or down?

They're so out of fashion

Thanks for the opinions. I'm going to take the plunge! Mariah I did already stipulate they are for comfort rather than fashion!

Interesting about the sizing. I'm usually between a six/seven so I'll order the seven and see how it goes.

Celtic have good boots in the sale now. You could get a couple of pairs plus slippers for less than uggs.

Gregs I hadn't realised the rugged boots had gone in the sale so thank you very much. I've ordered them and I can always return and swap for the classics if necessary (which aren't discounted), but I didn't want to hang around when they had £50 off!

Loads cheaper than Uggs too!

Reporting back! Ordered the rugged boots yesterday and they arrived at nine this morning (standard delivery)! They are gorgeous, very sturdy and so comfortable. I'm very pleased and saved so much money compared to a pair of Uggs! Thank you for the advice!

Gosh, that was quick!
Did you find going up in size worked out right?
Hope so as I decided to take the plunge too & ordered a pair in the sale this morning so hoping they come quickly too.
Thank you for the tip on sizing Starfish.
