My Mother (whose opinion I shouldn't care about but do) is on the verge of making a hair appt for me when I go home at Christmas as she hates my long hair and has used the word 'witch' about it in the past
I haven't been to a hairdresser in well over a year. I love my hair long and hate hairdressers thanks to a history of unwanted dos and a deep fear of layered Mum cuts and sensible bobs. In my defence it is very thick and shiny.
I'm 32. Tell me MN, is my hair too long and do I look like a witch??
You really suit the heavy fringe and it's a great colour and length. Maybe a tidy-up but nowt more!
Oh my goodness, your hair is GREAT
I wish mine would grow that long and that thick.
And no, you don't look remotely like a witch.
You have lovely hair, really full. Don't cut it if you like it long, no matter whayt others think.
I'm 40 in march and have long hair, some are white these days.
Oh, and some of my best mates are witches
Is your mother normally this rude btw?
Nope, not witchey at all! I think maybe have a trim so it grows longer and wind up your mum ;)
You look great and your hair is lovely.
You and your hair are gorgeous.
Don't change a thing <stern>
In a word Sleds, yes!
She made me have a bowl short hair till I was old enough to say no (while my sister had long
). I'm definitely overcompensating by having it as long as possible but it definitely annoys her.
A Psychoanalyst would have a field day.
It does need a tidy up. I cut it myself so it's definitely not perfect
. It's just a big part of my identity and I don't want to come out with a regulation Mum cut.
Thanks all.
Personally, I'd lose about 4 inches but [shrug] it's not my hair.
your hair looks lovely, nshort hair can be just as aging as long. it totally depends on the style.
It looks beautiful and tbh, stuff your mother - she clearly has issues and they're not your problem.
(meant to add that I don't think it looks witchy)
You look great with long hair. So does your dd
Nothing wrong with looking like a witch anyway (although you don't. Witches don't have fringes).
Cheers Sleds.
New record for number of 'definitely's in one post there too. Ho hum. At least I got the spelling right
@ "Witches don't have fringes."
Your hair's fine! And your dd baby photos are soooo cute.
I'm
I would kill for hair like yours! But I don't have the patience! My hair is the longest I've had it since school now, and my hairdresser is under strict instruction not to cut it short no matter how much I beg.
Maybe humour your mum by going for a trim, if its been a year since yr last cut the ends might need a wee snip.
It's lovely. You look like Kelle Hampton, (which is a good thing) and how gorgeous is your DD?
Bunny keep your long hair.... I too was subjected to years of crap short hair cuts (I have very very fine hair, my mother lied told me having it short would make it thicker) and I now have long(ish) locks and won't have them cut short for anyone, despite my mothers comments that I'm too old to have rats tails (her description). Yes I'm 42, but it's shiny, a decent colour (I think - no grey at all) and in good condition so yah boo sucks to you mum! I also have have a pic on profile but I can't rotate it for some reason
DD is a cutie
Funny my Mum has tried to get me to cut DD's too but DD wants "hair like Rapunzel"
Too weird MissVerinder - Kelle's blog is where I go for fringe inspiration! And just general inspiration. She's crazy cool.
ps. is that you with the 1950s look? It's fab!
Your hair is gorgeous (as are your kids) headfairy. I love that middle part style. My cowlicks make it impossible!
T'is me
Another great thing about long hair - makes all the vintage styles I love much easier!
It's beautiful.
You look how I want to look.
Was it you who just lost 2 stone? Apologies if not. Was trying to find the thread as need to do the same!
