  • to wear under a full-length satiny evening dress that's gorgeous but shows all the lumps and bumps (and the panty line of my existing shaper pants)

I've just worn these under a dress. Worked really well including smoothing out the slight overhang over my c-section scar. Comfy to wear all night and held up well, despite me stripping off in the ladies every 2 hours to express! It reaches from just under bust to mid thigh.

Sorry on phone so can't link, but higher power or super higher power spanx, which go from mid thigh to bra, are the mutts nuts. They're actually pretty comfortable and they don't roll down.

Get one which starts under your bust and goes down to your knees - less chance of any rollage that way. Ones that start at the waist cut you in half, ones that don't go past mid thigh will roll up your leg (and Visible Spanx line is worse than VPL)
And get it for the size you are - don't think a smaller one will suck you in more - it will just have more risk of starting to roll. So if you are a 14 get a 14/16 not 12/14 - will be more comfortable

Primark's are as good as any I find

These vests from M&S do a very good job. Ditto chocolateteabag's advice about sizing!

I've tried a few. This very attractive thingy is my latest attempt and 'tis ver good indeed. Smooths out all the bubbles, and doesn't move/roll/fall at all. Mind you, it would need to be good at that price. Nearly fainted when I went to pay, hadn't noticed the price til the sales woman asked for all that money. It needs to last a looooong time.

I've tried loads of types, slips and vests roll up and pants roll down. this kind of thing works best for me.

Thanks all. I've bought cairnterrier's M&S one which seems to be just what I need. Sorted!

Should've mentioned, the dress is off-the-shoulder so I couldn't get anything with straps!
