Hair calming

I have wavy shoulder length hair, and have got the frizzy regrowth at the front that I understand is quite common post pregnancy. I'd really like something to calm it down - it looks fine for a while immediately after I use straighteners or the Babyliss big hair thing, but it reverts to frizz pretty easily, especially if there's any moisture in the air (i.e. all the time!). Hairspray helps, but I don't like the rigid feel it gives.

Would a brazilian blowdry help? Or are there other better calming treatments? I like the wave, but the frizz is driving me crazy. I've tried the elasticizer, argan oil etc, but wondered if something longer term might help. If anyone can recommend anywhere in SW or central London, I'd be really grateful.

Ooh, I have exactly the same issue with the new growth towards the front. Drives me crazy - and I look perpetually unkempt! Watching with interest!

I would recommend the brazilian blowdry.
But you can get a kit from Amazon - keratin kits or something like that - which you can try at home to see if you like it. The kit is £30 ish

I've had an express one at a salon - where the stuff was just blow dired in rather than straightened - it lasted for about 8 weeks and I didn't have poker straight hair - just not frizzy.

I've then done the kit at home - which is obvs much cheaper!

If you don't like it - washing with normal shampoo takes it out (you have to use salt free to maintain it - which you can get at Boots - their moroccan oil or argan oil one for £6)

HTH

Also get on the daily voucher things for your area - salons often do offers on the full Brazilian blowdry
So I mean group on or wowcher etc

But watch out you will see lots of things you didn't know you really needed to get/have!

Sounds good, thank you. Really useful to have the ebay tip.

What should I look for in selecting a Brazilian blowdry product? I've heard worrying things about formaldehyde etc. Also does anyone know if it's ok to have the treatment whilst breastfeeding (one year old, not newborn)?

I can recommend John Frieda's Three Days Straight spray which does exactly what it says on the tin.

Frizz Ease is fantastic so is Tigi Blow out Balm.

Thanks. I haven't tried the Tigi product, but have had mixed success with Frizz Ease. I'll look up the three days straight spray, thanks.

The Tigi stuff is amazing and I got two bottle on ebay for a tenner instead of £16 each, so worth shopping around. I have used it for a year now and it has transformed my hair.

With Frizz Ease I use a tiny amount and just rub it into the curly bits rather than slap it on all over.

Thanks Valium. I've ordered some of the blowout balm and will give it a go.

Cut it short, I recommend it.

Frizzy hair can look shite if short though - you need to be careful imo.

I have that variety of frizzy hair that isn't curly just has random kinks, I suppose it's bushy rather than frizzy , mind you my mum has proper frizzy hair and she has always had hers really short, but it has to be proper short, I look like a mushroom if I try a short bob for instance.

I'd recommend trying the brazilian blow dry for a longer lasting effect - it's a bit more effort but soo worth it for 2 months of easy to manage hair

I just blow dry it in and use straightners a bit - so it's not poker straight just a lot smoother and easier
