How much is too much to spend on a leather handbag for everyday use? How many handbags does one need for everyday use?

How much have you got to spend? Could be £50 to £500.

Depends on your budget. The most I have ever spent was £100.
If I could afford it I'd spend a lot more Grin

As for how many - surely you can never have too many handbags!

Sky's the limit as far as I am concerned, but I'm a designer bag junkie. Most I've spent so far is c. £700. I have 7 in everyday rotation at the moment. Having read that back I'm not a good person to ask.

I'm not the right person to ask either, but I wouldn't buy a Birkin even if I could. And I have a wardrobe full of bags Blush, also a designer bag junkie.

Spend whatever you're comfortable with!

yy re Birkin, boring bag and totally devalued by VB. Leaning that way on the 2.55 front too, too many WAGs tote them now.

I would rather have one bag I loved than several - if I had the budget I would spend up to £850 on a "forever" every day leather bag. That said I have never spent that much..yet...

I don't "do" bags tbh. I have one shoulder bag that I use pretty much every day, for everything - apart from nights out when i rarely bother at all. It's a brown leather Mulberry one and Dh got me it for my birthday a couple of years ago. It's lovely, hard wearing and perfect for every day.

I think you are either a bag person or not.....so what you spend depends on what you can spend and if you love the bag! I love bags and have collected them through out my adult life....from the Fendi bag over a decade ago, to when anya hindmarch nailed the concept of bags with photos, when luella was designing for mulberry....but it all started with a Tods bag after watching lady Di!!!! So I think it's really personal how much you would spend. But the sky is the limit these days!!!

Never spend more than £300 max, but have more than I need Blush

Same here. No yen for a Mulberry or similar but (too) easily tempted by bags around the £100.00 - £250 mark.

I really like Birkins...
I would spend up to £700 and have on a Mulberry.
I think the key is to get what you really want initially, I have wasted so much money on cheaper bags that I don't love and I then go on to get what I really wanted anyway. Must ebay...

I want a bottega vennetta but oh my days the price!!!! Nothing for under a grand there, as far as I can see. I think my husband would divorce me if I spent that much

I love bags and have several. If I want a new one though then I don't put much 'new' money in anymore. I tend to sell on one or two bags to fund a new purchase. I don't mind spending on bags. If you choose well and look after them then they hold a decent resale value.
