I'm still carrying baby weight 15 months on, I hate my clothes and feel so unhealthy. I'm also breastfeeding which I think doesn't help me. I know the stop eating so much and excercise which I've been trying but now I need some insperation!

low carbs -- stop eating potatoes, rice, bread etc

you may get a headache at first but weight will come off

also no alcohol

I never lost any weight till I stopped breast feeding actually so it will come. I lost my baby weight by getting a dog and walking it twice a day. Not suggesting you do that but sometimes it's more about what going on in your life then anything you are doing. Getting a job, child being more independent etc.

Anyway I have just had a serious op and had to have my mother cook while I laid on the sofa. The complete absence of the kitchen from my life meant I went from 12' 4 to 11'8 in two weeks= no kidding! Three meals, no snacks, no carbs, very little wine (and no exercise) were the main differences. I have hope that I can keep it off now.

WeightWatchers. You could get started with a £30 cash back from Quidco for the first 3 months.

I log everything I eat on myfitnesspal. Have an app on my phone for it. Its a real eye-opener, just like keeping a spending diary is, its so easy too. I monitor my calories every day.

Agree with poster who mentioned low carbing. Well, I dont really do it seriously but I try to avoid white bread, pasta, rice etc and focus on lots of veg, lean protein, water, small amounts of good fats & the odd bit of chocolate and wine. Oh, and shred DVD is brill for exercise.

I started doing weightwatchers and didn't like it so now I use myfitnesspal and its really easy to keep track of what you're eating. I've lost 4 stones and 7lbs and only have another 5lbs to go to get to the target I originally set with when I joined WW.

Eat less, do more. It's the rocket science diet.

Another vote for MFP app on your phone. Using that, doing exercise 3/4 times a week and no alcohol has resulted in 16lbs weight loss so far!

If I'm honest I only got motivated to shift the lingering baby weight when I saw photos from a recent holiday, I look huge! It's been a real eye opener, and the excuse 'I've just had a baby' didn't really work now my DD is 16 months old!

No miracle cure, will power and hard work...

Good luck

Run Fat Bitch Run by Ruth Field is a brilliant book.

Otherwise, just force yourself to exercise at a regular time 4-5 days a week for about a month. If you're anything like me you'll eventually start to enjoy it. Or enjoy the after exercise feeling at least. And you'll start to lose weight, which is the best motivation for continuing.

Plus, eat less. Buy some healthy snacks.

If my previous message appears I apologise since it was chewed up and disappeared...

I've done MFP since January, it is really easy once you get into the swing of religiously logging everything. I lost 2 stone in about 2mths. I hit a plateau so adjusted my daily calories up but below my TDEE cals then zig zagged calories between the min (1200) and my TDEE. It broke the plateau and so far I've lost 33lbs. My goal is 40. If you want to know about BMR/TDEE cals go to the My Fitness Pal forum, there are far better explanations there than I can give
