Alternative to Waitrose Pure Glycerin soap?

hazeyjane · 19/03/2012 14:23

This is the only soap I have ever been able to use without turning my skin into a cracked, itchy mess, and they have stopped doing it!!!

Please, does anyone know of any alternatives?

Is Pears soap a glycerine one?

It is but it has lots of perfume in it, the Waitrose one had nothing at all.

Pears made me look like I had sand blasted my face.

Hmm, nice look.

You could possibly get a bit etsy and make your own?

Is Simple no good for you?

There are quite a few people who sell natural soaps on ebay, have abrowse and contact one of them, they might be able to make something for you if they dont have exactly what you're after :)

Health Food shop?

Simple leaves me with more of a tight drum face, and i have just discovered that Dove - bloody so called - Sensitive brings me out in an impetigo like rash (unless i have actually got impetigo, in which case, sorry Dove).

I will give health food shop a go, but like the idea of making my own, hmm, I will have a google.

Thankyou for being patient with me, I know I sound a bit 'Princess and the Pea' about it, but I have been using the Waitrose one for ages because it was so perfect (and cheap). I assumed it must just be out of stock, but asked someone in the shop this morning when it was coming back in and he said they have discontinued it, I was tempted to kick him in the shins.

Hazey - I have had to give up using soap on my face. Just can't do it any more. Now I use an ultra gentle Origins cleanser and Optrex eye drops to refresh my eyes (because I didn't feel quite woken up enough without water on my face) and my skin is so much better.

you can also use aqueous cream instead of soap, as a cleanser in the bath or shower :)

I hope you are still on the look out for this. I have the same problem and have used Waitrose glycerine soaps for years, all the way from California! But, two alternatives are: 1. Hema glycerin soap. 2. 365 glycerine soap from Wholefood Market. Good luck.
