Dark circles around eyes

Not just mild bags, I'm talking it looks like i have a whole different skin tone around my entire eye sockets, and I am very fair skinned which makes it stand out even more.

Had them as long as I can remember, even on pictures when I was a kid I had them. Why? :(

I eat well, drink 2+ litres of water per day, get more than enough sleep, so what can be causing these dark circles so bad that I have to apply a face full of the lightest foundation I can find, with a thick layer of concealer around my eyes for them to just about dissapear?

I'd love to go a day not wearing any make up, but I look truly awful/so sick without any.

I have exactly the same problem. I think they are hereditary? All of my grandparents and my mum,dad and brother have them. Mine is compounded by the fact that I am now in my 40's and so have wrinkles and cannot wear thick concealer because it goes in the lines..... Lovely!

The best way I can manage mine is to make sure I use a super hydrating Eye cream and use Bobbi Brown corrector (sparingly) with a dab of concealer on top.

I like Alpha H eye complex. It's a really runny eye gel. It exfoliates and hydrates and the deep blue shadows under my eyes have definitely improved since I started using it. I get mine from QVC , if you check their website there are loads of reviews.

Sounds odd but my dark circles (which like you I have had since childhood) have drastically imroved since I started daily body brushing, it's worth a try.

None of my family have them :( slight bags, but nothing like mine. Mine are brown circles, not blue, horrible! I'll look into some eye creams, haven't bothered with that many really because they all seem to do naff all when I have read the reviews!

Might just apply 5 layers of fake tan everywhere apart from my eyes, should match then Grin

Another thing worth trying is regular gelatine eye masks, they've really helped my dark circles.

(lazy C&P from another thread I posted it on coming up)

Dark circle removing eye mask.

Dissolve one teaspoon of gelatine powder in a tiny bit of very hot water. Dab around the eyes and leave for at least 1/2 an hour. Rinse off with warm water.

It's fab and has a cumulative effect. There's a noticeable (but not massive)difference after the first time but dramatic improvements with regular use.

Gelatine sheets are also usable but more of a faff. Soak in cold water for 5 minutes, squeeze out most of the water. Microwave for 10 - 20 seconds stirring a couple of times.

How often do you apply the gelatine eye masks, Hetty?

As often as you like, I only get round to it a few times a week but daily is fine.

Do NOT peel the gelatine off, it's tempting but not good for the delicate skin

I think I might have some gelatine in the cupboard. Will let you know how I get on. Thanks!!

I find its only on the days I use fake tan do I look normal. My skin is very delicate and you can see the blue veins under the skin. I find applying layers of concealer makes my eyes heavy and feel terrible.

Why are you drinking all that water? its a pointless and painful experience! Just have a normal diet and the fluids are contained in the natural food.

I dont find applying anything makes an once of difference.

I have always drank a lot of water, I just prefer it to other drinks, I don't do it for any particular dietary reason :)

Nothing works? I feel like weeping! I don't want to smell like fake tan forever!
