here or pricey

possibly

my favourite

If you let me have a budget, and a bit of feedback on the first suggestions, I'll have another go (beats clearing up the kitchen).

thank you so much for that Bienchen, I loved your favourite one and the Aspinal of London too, but a bit more than I would like to spend... so more suggestions on this budget would be fantastic Grin

cheaper Aspinal and nicer as I don't like the big lock

messenger made elegant, HOF has 20% off but only 1 left though stores may have stock if you ring around

Ebay but new, the gold version

Coast at John Lewis

LK Bennett, probably too spency?

budget option but pretty enough

quite like this affordable and simple beauty

another one
I had also seen an envelope style clutch somewhere, as I think a simple style may be more versatile.

You did not say what colour/style dress you are wearing. There is always the option to match the bag to the colour of the dress and then go for gold hardwear on the bag to tie it to the shoes?

I am loving your links and search Bienchen, thank you so much for taking the time to help me, I really appreciate it. The dress I am wearing is this one:

www.johnlewis.com/305822/Product.aspx

with this shrug (which matches the colour exactly, but I tried a pink one at the shop and the contrast of colours looked really nice but the pink one was not as 'dressy' as the purple IYSWIM) I would like to go for a more contrasting colour but bought the purple one just in case I couldn't find anything else that I liked/ didn't match well.

Also bought this necklace and WOULD love opinions on it as well Grin (as is I wasn't asking for a lot already Blush

Great choice of dress and shrug; as they are both rather simple you can go a bit mad with accessories (btw there was no link to the necklace).

I think purple, brocade and gold is very elegant, so would stick with these colours for accessories, too.

Lots on Notonthehighstreet, have discounted all the eelskin bags (as they freak me out) but if you are fine with eelskin (and happy to pay £200+), then by all means have another look.

Otherwise some more ideas: hope something catches your eye. Off to work, will check back later.

purple clutch but would prefer a touch of gold detailing or a crystal to link to shoes

this comes in purple and cream, check both

[[http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/carameldesigns/product/ruffelle-adele-clutch-bag quite adorable and a bit of contrast to the dress/shrug, love this! ]

this comes in two sizes, the larger one has a detachable strap

wow, if you can stretch to £250, simple lines should ean it won't date so quickly

still looking for something in brocade fabric...

this is a great price given the bag is chevre or lambskin lambskin is a delicate leather but the feel of it is fabulous, I would check that the zipper detail is gold

can't go wrong with this simple styling, gold detailing, great price, low stock though

WOW, some really nice stuff, i will need a bit of time to have a look at them properly, but meanwhile here is the link to the necklace

do you think it is 'mad' enough? Smile

Gosh, I am glad I asked about the dress as it immediately makes some of the earlier suggestions redundant and opens up other possibilities.

So we have a simple/classic dress/shrug
with quirky shoes and an
edgy necklace (but I also liked the round pendant that came up on the JL website when I opened your link.

Bearing all of that in mind I think I would rule out any of the bags suggested that are a bit "twee". Am very much drawn to the bag that was marked as chevre or lambskin (but the purple version is pigskin suede).

And the Artemis for £250 and the one before.

Standing by for feedback.

I think I like this one more than the others:

www.notonthehighstreet.com/cloudedyellow/product/small-bow-clutch

but I just wonder if would be an idea to try to find a necklace that would pick up both colours, the pink of the bag and the purple of the dress. Is that a mad idea to go and hunt for something that might turn out so difficult to match (specially considering that I already have a necklace Confused...

I can see why you are drawn to this: apart from colour compatibility, it is a simple design but the oversized bow adds a bit of drama and dare I say quirkyness.

Magenta is not a million miles from purple, although it is pink, it veers towards purple and I would happily see this with purple. Being all purple for clothing and necklace would be quite matchy-matchy (and not in the spirit of quirkiness :)).

I'd say get all your bits together and see what they look like IRL; you can then decide whether you want a different necklace.

If you do go down the route of a different necklace, I would suggest looking at amethyst (preferably with some gold) but that could prove expensive. Still the bag is well priced, so maybe that is an option.

whole range of options here

maybe this?

If you want to go cheaper, then maybe stones rather than gems...

possibly this

or this? although I would love to have a bit of gold with it

this?

but ask them to take off the peace symbol

Happy browsing

if you don't mind second hand here

or this seller may be able to make something to your spec?

Hi Bienchen, I have thought about it a bit more and I will probably stick to the necklace I already have, since it is not matchy-matchy, thank you so much for your help anyway, I haven't made up my mind on the bag yet, but I quite like your suggestion of getting everything together and see how it works...
