I have seen it mentioned loads on here, but I have never understood what it means.Blush I am nearly at the end of my moisturiser and trying to save money on expensive ones, so I fancy trying something different.

What is it, how do you do it, and why is it so good?

rub oil on your face. take it off with hot steamy flannel. that is it. no moisturiser. do it once a day.

I do OCM but I still use moisturiser. It's a method of cleansing not moisturising.
Google it OP there are some good websites explaining in depth.

The key is to use caster oil blend. I ran out of caster oil and kept up with just pain grape seed oil - it still worked but didn't deep clean pores like the caster oil blend does - so caster oil an essential part of it.

Olive oil? What about SPF? Maybe at night I'd oil my face, sounds good idea! Not daytime, I use Nutrogena for daytime moisturiser, although it is only SPF 15.I use foundation too which is great for sun ray protection (according to Joan Collins) :)

thanks for asking this question! Where can one get hold of castor oil blend? Doesn't it make your skin all oily and spotty?

I started by mixing 10% castor oil with 90% olive oil for maybe 6wks until my skin was clear now 2 years on I just use olive oil. I don't moisturise as the whole point of ocm is that your skin finds it's natural balance, doesn't get stripped of its natural oils then slathered in chemicals to replace them.

I'm easily led - I've just bought some castor oil and some sweet almond oil. Will report back on how it works!

Do I have to use it for any length of time to see any change? I see a pp has said 6 weeks, is that normally the length of time it would take? I don't have spots but have some dry patches on occasion.

I used to use sweet almond oil for my face and hair. Smells beautiful but very greasy of course :)
