i need comfortable heels. do they exist?

look, i am one of those women who literally can't wear heels for very long.

i wear then at work, but thats becuase i sit on my arse all day with occasional trips to the kitchen/printer/cellar to poke staff with sticks

for the mn xmas do, if i wear some of my heels that i have for work, they will be off within the hour

do heels that are comfy exist?

OMG, I am with you, OP.

Do they exist? I had a pair of lovely metallica peep-toe heels for £25 from New Look that I bought about 3 years ago and they are literally the ONLY heels I have ever liked wearing. Knackered now, though, and I need an alternative.

i have a pair of boden boots with quite high heels - so comfy - but i can't afford to buy boden shoes to test the theory

I used to be able to wear heels ,am sure heels in the 80's weren't as crippling or it's my age

What style? SOme types are comfier than others. M and s do those ones that are guaranteed comfy mabs and I bought a pair like sheep but they are good. Don't think they have many styles though. A hidden platform wedge is super comfy and looks great!

I can't normally do heels but have some Fly ones and some DM ones which are both wearable. Was hesitant to post about the Fly ones but since you admitted to Boden...

I can't do heels in fact I didn't own any until someone told me to try fly london, I now own 5 pairs all in different funky colours, does a wedge heel count?

have a look at clarks, they have some styles with not too high heels that are comfy.
also ecco or gabor

I've got some Fly London wedges and they are really, really uncomfortable. I think it's because I have narrow feet, so they slip a bit.

My Dr Martins heels are the most comfortable I have. I've got some beautiful Clarks wedges that I adore - but they hurt me.

Mousy, please don't take this the wrong way by I remember (with horror) my Mum wearing Clarks, Ecco and Gabor in the 80's so I don't think I could bring myself and i'm very very skint

I'm just waiting to see if I can get a code for more money off, then will purchase these boots and, to get the cheap delivery these shoes

I'm quite aware that I have, erm, somewhat different taste to the majority on here so am anticipating my flaming

i'm still looking through all the links, our clarks shop is pants in town, but it never occured to look online - never heard of ecco - so some new things to peruse.

I spent my teens insisting i didn't need a vest. I've worked with people with SN for a few years now and got into the habit of wearing a protective layer in case of uniform-rippage. It is not a vest

Read something in paper recently, think it was by chiropodist & recommended ok up to 4cms.

I normally wear flat shoes/boots but might experiment, quite fancy some cuban or western style ankle boots.

Try to get to an independant shoe shop, likely to have better quality brands.

I thought until recently, yeah I'll never wear Gabor, too, too old-fashioned. But then I tried on a pair of heeled brogues by Gabor and they are in fact the first heels I've ever been able to wear all day without agony. And they are very elegant shoes.

Personally I can't be bothered any more with whether something is a young or an old brand. Why buy into all that marketing bollocks? And though I like heels, I'm never, ever going to wear anything over 3 inches, I just can't manage it. And I really do think 3 inches is high enough in all conscience. If it's the 'old' brands that do reasonable size heels (which are coming back in, albeit slowly), then so be it.

I bought a pair of Clarks heels last year and they cut the heel off me. I was actually bleeding. Not comfy at all. Boo.
