I'm getting married in 7 weeks and am starting to try out makeup for the day.

I'm looking for a foundation with good coverage that will last, but not look like a mask! Give me some recommendations to try.

It also may be worth looking at something like Urban Decays Setting spray as it gives make up extra staying power. Especially good if its hot, I use it all the time and love it.

makeupforever hd foundation is amazing
hard to get hold of though
there is a place in london that sells it
looks very natural ie. suitable for high definition photos
lasts for ages as well

Without a doubt Estee Lauder Doublewear. Apply with a foundation brush and you will get the coverage just right. They will give you a few trial size pots (enough for about a week) so you can get the colour right

The Chanel consultant in my local dept store told me all the make up girls from all the premium brands wear it as they arent aloud to touch up their make up during the day and need something that stays put : )

EL doublewear gives you cakeface
just look at all the makeup counter girls

I found there were no shades in the double wear that suited me. Could have just been crap salesperson and/or my freakish part pale celtic/part olive skinned complexion. Anyway, I found a really good match with the clarins everlasting foundation (getting married this weekend), and I've found it really lasts all day when I've put it on for practice runs - no shine at all after 12 hours toddler wrangling, but definitely not mask like (I haven't worn foundation for a couple of years so am hyper aware of maskiness too).

I use Chanel Vitalumiere or Pro Lumiere on most brides I work with. I use a primer first, usually the MAC one (but not the spf50 one as it can be a bit ghostyly in photos). I usually hear back from them saying they were amazed that the make up stayed in place until the early hours.

EL Doublewear can look great but you have to know how to apply it well. It can look cakey if you don't, that's for sure!

Two new ones that I really like are the MAC Pro Longwear, which looks lovely and natural but has quite good coverage, and Illamasqua's Skin Base. Just a warning, a little goes a loooong way with these two so go sparingly.

having put it in the Swears By newsletter last week i tried the estee lauder doublewear at the counter on the weekend (i am nothing if not obedient. Grin).
the assistant was LOVELY (no cakeface) and did half of my face in doublewear and the other in doublewear light. we both agreed that the doublewear was too matte for me and so i went with the light version. i have tried A Lot of foundations in my day (used to be a beauty ed) and am knocked-out by how great the coverage is and how long it lasts.
