Dunno but I wore wooden soled boots this winter and my back has taken a hammering. I'd avoid if you have back issues

They always look so unforgiving dont they slap slap slapping on the pavement. BUT Scholl sandals which are meant to be great for feet are made of wood so???

I wouldn't like to have to walk far in them myself, but I'm very wimpy about uncomfortable shoes.

They do look fairly jarring if they're solid wood (rather than that fake wood stuff which is actually quite spongy).

I had a pair of wooden Scholls when I was about 8, I remember running along in them once and the slipped slightly so one of my feet landed quite hard on the edge of them - ow ow ow!

I know I said "this shoe" in the thread title. I would be planning to wear a pair.

Your toes might develop an unattractive claw shape from the effort of gripping them to keep them on your feet

Perhaps a wooden sandal with more straps might be better

I sound like my bloody mother

Just noticed that the soles are made of 'thermoplastic rubber' - so might be fine - you might actually bounce along in them.

I hate having to 'claw' to keep shoes on

I would say very uncomfy - agree about the claw-toes problem and slapping on your foot/pavement.

I hated my wooden soled shoes and I even binned them rather than giving them to a charity shop, as I couldn't bear the thought of some poor person buying them all pleased, and then hating them as much as me! (They were a much higher heel though, which could have been the problem).

i had some scholl wooden sandals about 5 years ago, i too did what house of bamboo did - i had a bruise on my instep, which then hurt when i walked because of the moulded wooden sole...

my real issue was that i couldn't keep them on my feet though. my feet aren't very sweaty and being so dry they just slipped off. constantly. and i was always terrified of more instep-bruising, although thankfully that only happened once. i have been known to wet the bottom of my foot to keep them on.

then i got some birkenstocks and my whole life changed and i never wore them again. not what you asked, i know, but just my experience of wooden soled shoes.

but i never found wearing them jarring on the back, if that's all you're worried about Grin.

I have a wooden pair (higher heel) and they hurt, really hard on the feet!

Those ones are slightly heavy for me. In the TRF section there is a similar style sandal which is easier to walk in.
I did 8 hours shopping in my H&M hasbeens and wore them the next day, they are soooo comfy but really light too.

Think you need to try them out.

I like them but can't help feeling they'd slip off? You'd probably have to curl your foot to keep them on and that'd be painful.
