What's the best facial to have done?

I have bad pores, skin thats prone to being oily. I think I need a good facial and have never had one before.

Am overwhelmed by the choice and pseudo-science garble in the description of them all. I did read that microdermabrasion was good but non of the salons in town seem to offer this. Is it new?

Clarins tri-active. Its amazing! They specifically tailor it to you. My face was so contoured, they do your face, neck and decollote, hands and feet. I cannot recommended it enough.

Guinot hydradermie. Cleanses clarifies and kills bacteria that makes spots. Can be tailored to suit your skin

I had a very good Dermalogica facial last year.

2nd Guinot one.

Try one that incorporates microdermabrasion and/or peeling. It's not like a chemical peel so don't worry about your face falling off in chunks over the next week! Sometimes they are just sold as treatments and are pretty much the same as a facial. I have similar skin and have had courses of peels and the results are fab.

I miss my Dermalogica facials. They do it specifically for your needs, the products smell amazing and you get a lovely massage whilst the mask is working. My skin used to be glowing when I walked out of there and it felt so clean.

It's now on my mental list to book another!

If you were my client, I'd recommend microdermabrasion. It is a form of exfoliation which removes dead skin cells gently and very effectively and stimulates new skin cells (one treatment will give you noticeable improvement but if you can afford a course you will find your skin starts to behave 'younger' by turning over more quickly (this is a process that slows down as we get older).

It will give you a lovely clear, clean, fresh complexion and help bring out any under skin congestion (blackheads, bumps under skin etc) drawing it up to the surface and making it easier to remove.

It really helps regulate oily skin too and stimulates healthy circulation. The combined benefits will also help make the pores appear smaller and less apparent (although nothing can permanently shrink your pore size).

Thanks everyone. Think I'm going to have a microdermabrasion to kick start my skin and then follow up with some Guinot facials.
