Since having babies my bob flicks out (!) - what can I do?

Hello

Just had my hair cut back into a shortish, slightly layered and fringeless bob. It seems like a good cut and sits well when I leave the hairdressers but, whereas pre-pregnancy, it needed no styling and just used to bounce around looking lovely all day, it now tends to flick out in random places and looks flat and frankly depressed if it's not hotbrushed.

Can anyone recommend anything to help- products, equipment or something that could be done with the cut?

Thought about a big hair rotating dryer?...

I love having a bob, but not a flicky one!

Get the Big Hair thing. It is the BEST

How long ago did you have your last dc or give up bf?
They both do weird things to hair because of the hormones. At 6m post baby I noticed hair thinning. Then it re grew but looked like I had cut a super short fringe! As it grew back in my hair always looked fuzzy - never smooth because of the shorter new hairs. In the ms I had it chopped and this made the new and older hairs match up more.

It could be a phase or a more permanent change in hair texture bit I'd totally blame the hormones!

Mine flicks out at the end (i.e. the ends turn up if that's what you mean) - the only thing that stops it is straightening with proper hot straighening irons (my cheap old ones don't do much), but as I can't be bothered to do that every morning I have learned to like it :)

was it the same hairdresser? Sounds like it could be either the same hairdresser hasn't cut it quite so well or different hairdresser.

I would think about just altering your style slightly so it is cut in a way to make it lye flat and not be to much faffing in the mronigns to get ready Grin

It was a different hairdresser- a local one in my village as opposed to my previous hairdresser who was a senior stylist at Michaeljohn (which may well be part of the problem!)

Post-pregnancy I lost loads of hair and then when it grew back I had loads of short "baby" hair, including a new fringe under the existing one, and now I have the "fuzzy" thing because of all the new hair. I'm going to have to have a serious restyle I think...

Sorry, not much help, but I do sympathise!
