What do you do with your hair for a Xmas do?

I have got a dark brunette bob (chin length) and for the couple of Xmas parties I'll be going to this year I just wanted to do something a bit different with my hair.

Anyone got similar hair with any suggestions? Do any of the curling wands work on short hair?

I joosh it up a bit and make it big, put some product on it. Nothing too special. My hair's short but full.
