I'm throwing myself to the lions here, but here are a series of snaps I took last night - once I got started I couldn't stop. Got very carried away. I should SO have been on Britains Next Top Model LOL!!

Anyway, here's the deal, my hair grows like a bugger when I'm pregnant and now DS2 is 11 months its pretty much down to my waist. Its also doing my head in. I wear it in a greasy ponytail most of the time cos its in the way. I NEED a haircut. I dont know quite what to do with it though. I like the hair, but I dont like it on me. I think I'm too old to have it this long.

I cant do shorter than shoulder length because it makes me feel naked and imo doesnt balance my body right (Im a generous size 14. Ok 14-16).

I cant do wacky. Or high maintenence. I'm sleep deprived and sometimes forget to brush it. I never ever style it apart from for weddings when I might get the airbrush out to curl the ends. Its very thick and naturally slightly wavy but only slightly. I've always had a wispy fringe but recently grew it out. I dont think I should have that any more. I look stupid with a thick fringe as my forehead is narrow and I have a double chin (which I've miraculously managed to disguise on the shots but believe my, profile shot not so good) I'm 36. I might consider some colour.

Give me some suggestions. Please. I've tried hairstyler.com and its a waste of time cos apparently the style of the moment involves massive thick fringe. Don't tell me I'm a minger cos I'll cry. Be kind to a tired mummy :)

Oh thank for for your kind response :) curly-girl method I have not heard of - will need to google that.

Yes I think you're right, I definately need some layers. All one length for me - I dont think does me any favours.

I might give it a try, although my hair isnt curly, but a bit wavy.

Wow, fantastic hair - am jealous!Envy

I would suggest you have quite a lot cut off the length - below shoulders but above boobs. Side parting (not centre), lots of layering at back & sides, and sort of shaped around your face.

Can't find exactly what I mean but a bit like the photo of Eva Mendes if you type Eva Mendes into google web (not images), photo on the top right... Sorry, can't seem to work the link thing tonight..Blush

Lovely hair.
I agree with everyone who says long layers. You'd still be able to tie it back but when it was down it will look less triangular.

well theres agreement with everyone here! long layers it is. above boobs but below shoulders so not too drastic. I shall have it done next week when I have a rare day without children. I'll post when its done :)

Update: well I had the chop. Its NOT what I wanted, or asked for, for that matter, but i'm SOOOO glad I had it cut. I'm going to get more layers cut in in a few weeks. At a different hairdressers!
