Boden Autumn collection- wool crops

your opinions please.
Are wool crops slightly odd? Do they look like trousers that are just too short?

Would they work in longer length as full length trousers?

I prefer wide leg full length wool trousers,tbh.

Last year I noticed they had loads left in the sale so they weren't popular though the reviews picked up on an odd cut.

I already have the bootleg wool and fancied something else. I am only 5' 3" and a size 10 so think widelegs swamp me- they look great on taller people.

actually, I really like them

although as a Pear, and lacking a well-turned ankle, I would look like a weeble in them

I'm 5ft 3 also PP,but wear widelegs with heels or wedges.
I don't wea rcrops as they make me look stumpy

I have gradually ditched my wider leg trousers over the years as I felt I looked as if I was wearing someone else's trousers- too baggy round back of thigh mainly.

Also, I don't do heels- wear flat boots or pumps except for dressing up.

Realistically though, once it is colder I will not be showing any ankle- it's too cold- I'll be in boots, so crops have a limited life span with me.

I work mainly from home and although I need a couple of smart outfits when I meet clients, I do smart casual mainly. I think I have almost talked myself out of them, but they do have a certain French chic about them!

The long is 29" so they'd work as full-length on me (acutally the regular probably would be too). I have some wide-leg wool crops from a few years ago and they are full-length with flat shoes. Don't think much of the photo with the high heels though. They just look as if they've shrunk.

Purplep - I quite fancy them, and feel you could wear them with ankle boots too when it gets colder. I have no trousers for Winter wear in my wardrobe and have to stop buying tops - feel these would definitely fit a gap. I am also a size 10 and 5'6" so will order both a 10R and a 12R just in case they are small fitting. While I know they are never going to look as good on me as they do on that impossibly slim model in the photo, I think I will risk ordering a pair and will report back to you (no doubt I will be returning some of the A.W stuff so might do an exchange)

I think this is a really good length for the short of leg (speaking for myself), and currently v fashionable. I've got a pair of trousers this length from Gap and they're immensely flattering on -- kind of shaped to the leg but not so tight it clings. They'll work with ankle boots in the autumn I reckon, or with shoes. I see brogues are back, none too soon in my book, and would work brilliantly with this length.

Hm just looked at the pics on the boden site. I think what is odd about those trousers is that they are slightly bootlegged -- I'm sort of thinking the ankle-swinging flares they had in about 1966. The Gap ones are slightly more cut into the ankle and I think more flattering.
