How are all you Credit Crunch Brunettes doing? This recession thingy seems to be going nowhere and i'm bored with being brunette. What to do?

I've always been varying shades of blonde (some more natural than others) apart from a short dabble with red.
Have been brunette now for about a year, back to my natural colour which is cheap to maintain obviously, but i'm soooooo bored now.

anyone else finding it a pain to stick with being a credit crunch brunette?

i'm on the verge of cracking and booking in for some highlights. help.

I cracked sort of, found a girl who works for a very famous hairdressers and does highlights at your house on a Sunday afternoon for £50 instead of £150 at the salon, everyones happy

Agree with Mamatomany. Get someone to come to your home to do your hair as it's so much cheaper.

A lovely lady comes here roughly every 5 weeks and puts three different blonds in my hair, trims it and sometimes cuts DS3s hair too for £45.00.

Admittedly it's not as relaxing as going to a salon and doesn't feel as much of a treat but £45.00 is a bargain and I'm really pleased with how my hair looks so I'm happy.

Just go with the highlights - you have done your 'time' and been a brunette for a year. As your reward for saving all that money, you should let your blonde side out again (because being both a brunette at times, and mostly blonde all other times, I agree 100% that blondes do have more fun and in times of economic crisis we need the fun!)

I know, it's a big deal chopping off your locks, you need to be in the right frame of mind! That cut will be lovely though, don't forget a picture when you've done it

ALASKANEBRASKA Did it come out really dark? I have chatted with you before about nice and easy 118 it is fab, but it does tend to fade a little in the summer.I think I am going to have a try of the medium mahogany next time, have you ever used that one? I have also thought about going lighter but have dark eyes and pale olive tone skin, so best keeping to the dark ranges, just fancy something a bit different.

NEVERGOOGLE A few of us a while back decided that it was the best mid brown colour,it is dark without being too dark or tinted looking. The only thing is I have noticed in the summer months it does tend to fade more but I think all do in the sun.One person had been using this colour shade fore 3 years I must admit I have used it 4 or 5 times,I used to get mine done in a salon, this is just as good imo.give it a whirl, hope you like it,I must warn that it is slightly dark for the first wash or two but soon calms down.

i checked out the 118 today. i want to go blonde though, is there a home colour that is good or do you think only the professionals can make it look good?
