Advice about getting in touch again please.....

In a previous marriage I had a step daughter & step son. We were very close, however, when the marriage broke up my ex's family insisted my SD sever all contact - she refused and her extended family shut her out. She was 17 at the time. In that period her Gran died and she hadn't seen her. The "family" made her feel so bad we agreed to not stay in touch.

I have recently found a website of where she's working and would love to get in touch again. She's now 27. Should I contact her or leave well alone?

Any advice appreciated.

27? hmmmn I would think you could contact her, but don't hold any expectations of a reply. (I presume you mean via email). 27 is much more grown up now, so she should be able to decide if its worth it and what level of contact is acceptable and if she wants too. Being a pessimist I would say be prepared for no contact, and don't pursue if you don't get a reply. Make your initial email short and just a hi type of email.

Hmmn I also wanted to say not sure if this is a specific ex step child-step parent question. This sounds more generic no? Someone out of someones life getting back in touch after some major event?

But perhaps some ex step child would be able to say if it special relationship.

Personally if I were in said position I would welcome contact again - but I hold only a few grudges so deep
