hi all,
please can anyone give me any ideas this is a long post so Im sorry if I rant on
I have a child with a genetic disorder, epelipsy, hearing aids, bowel and develomental delay who is 6.
my child has not been at school since july 08 because i had a range of issues i wont go in to detail as it will take ages and i dont want to bore you firstly these are the issues since starting mainstream, ive been abused by parents,my child has been left to draw allover her genitals while been left on her own she has not had her toilet needs seen to while there we had all her personal items nappies, creams pinched from the school not only once but twice and the worst part the school segragated my child and other disabled children in a fenced of play pen at the other side of the school for a year at lunch times away from all other children not only did i confront the school and they got her out they then put her back in and i watched for weeks and contacted human rights i removed her because her epelipsy had got worse and her hair was bald patched at the back and they would not change her nappies so i had to remove her still no school please can you support my petition below and get as many people as you can to support this

Obviously, I dont want this to happen to anyone else. I was fortunate that MY child could tell me about this practice but the school insist this is part of their safe play.

Olivia did not want to be in there but she against her wishes I.and Olivia don't want this to happen to anyone else and I suspect you don't either.

For legal reasons I am unable to disclose the school but my child has now been removed.
Please can you help myself and Olivia by highlighting the issue through signing the petition below
Thanks.

farkinell. S'not really inclusion is it?

Is it because there is no 1 to 1 at break time? And how could they not change her nappies? Were her toileting needs not in her statement?

Gawd. Tis thoroughly depressing. How's she doing now? Are you schooling at home or trying to find sn provision?

her statement does have everything on it even at break times the school said health and safety they had no documents on the practise or health and safety in place her toilet needs where also on her statement but nobody was doing it at lunch time even the school nurse sent a letter to my Lea stating she had been in time after time to try to get them to do it but no sucess at all the education told me to send her back well you can imagine what parent would .
Ive now found a special school but The Lea say i have to pay for transport they wanted her in a unit but ive said no the school i found is two miles more than the one they want to send her to .
I am trying to teach her at home but im exhausted

That is horrendous. I wouldn't send her back there either and I hope you can hold out for the special school. I had to pull my son out of school and tried to teach him at home for a term, that and the fighting to get him into school was a very exhausting time, but we came out the other side and he is now very happy in his special school. You will get through this too - good luck!

Thank you I would not send her back and Im due to go to disability discrimination sendits in june best thing is they have not denied any of it only about the segragation saying they had to do it but that is not good enoughth these children are not animials and deserve better
Please can i remind readers to sign the petion for me I need all the support I can get xx

Signed your petition - I can't believe they can get away with the segregation thing, surely they have to be at least seen to be trying to include everyone. Even if there were health and safety issues (my own ds was a bit of a playground menace at mainstream) there are ways around it. To not change her is awful, I can't believe the school nurse actually had to complain to the LEA (although I guess that helps your case?) And this is what they do with a statemented child - a statement doesn't seem to count for much in that school! Good luck with your petition and the sendits. Sorry I went a bit ranty but I thought my sons old school treated us a bit crappily but it was nothing on this. Is she much happier now she is out of there? My ds changed over-night after leaving his old school, made me feel bad that I'd left it so long to remove him.

Thank you seuss for your support.
Yes she is alot happier she never speaks about the school at all.
yes I to felt guilty about it sending her there i felt like ive failed her by sending her but i know ive done the right thing by removing her and thats meeting her needs her epelipsy has calmed down and her hair has grown back.
Im also going to sendits for the statement now so im hoping it will be heard at the same time as the discrimination .
Also I have a report from human rights stating that my LEA went in to the school and said the segragation was ok the man who did that has now left the LEA.
