nuffield cant help where next advice please

Just herd back from the nuffield who have said since my son has no verbal they can not see hom to carry out any assements.

He has started pick up signing which was a fantastic moment

but i am still wondering why hes non verbl no babby babble etc not sure where else look for answers

he does have gd of 18 months in other areas , but speec nothing his understanding is bout 18 months behind

ty Tclnger tried i can but even they admit he more awakwrd as hes hs no verbal at all does not seem to fit in one group or another

but the 2nd placelooksvery intresting going contact them see if they take nhs referals

also you might want to google Floortime - it's meant to be very good for generally encouraging interaction and communication.

Hi Phoenix, hope you dont mind me asking but how old is your son and does he have any other 'problems'? What is he delayed in? Got no advice sorry! Surely HV or GP can refer you somewhere suitable?

Hes 31/2 and yes he does have gd of about 18months and suffers with hypermoblity and poor muscle tone

we have had salt involved for over 12 months but there worse than useless 4 vists in that time and becuse I pushed it.he is at nursery and has 1-1 which imhoping will get on his staement for school which were doing now

As for my gp hes well dont even get me started had to go round him s ,he just kept telling me my son was lazy as hes my 4th child though wass good moment when told him and demanded and got a written apology

oh that's weird as the nuffield saw ds1 when he was non-verbal (he's 9 now and still non-verbal!), I can't really remember much about it though. Having said that they weren't that much use.

We ended up getting dx via a local multi disciplinary assessment with paed, clinical psych, SALT, OT etc. The Nuffield referred us for that iirc (well they referred him to a paed who referred him to the assessment group)
