Sorry to hear you are so worried about this.

If you don't mind me asking, what is DD being tested for?

I think the thing to remember is that the professionals are trying to help you. I find that it is better to know that not to know so you can deal with it.

The other thing I tried to remember when we were going through something similar is that DD won't change as a result of having seen these people - she will still be your DD who you know and love. She is still herself regardless of any label slapped on her.

It is a shame your DH can't go with you though but I am sure you will do brilliantly.

Good luck.

Try not to worry, as Niecie said they are there to help you and it is far better to know what you are dealing with then you can put the right strategies in place to make things better for both you and your DD. Both my DD and DS have seen a Peadi and she was absolutely lovely. My DS now see's her every 6 months and he really likes her. I'm sure you will be fine. Good Luck.

guess what? peadi said dd4 has no genetic stuff going on, everything shes been tested for has came back negative.second bloods were all good. still waiting on urine tests results coming back, but peadi is confidant that should be ok too. dd4 has been refered to the autism team and a phycologist? (cant remember if thats the right name,no sleep mind like a sive),so shes to go for assesment with them.waiting list is 2years, so we should have dx by the time she gets to school.im happy with that because all the help she gets just stays the same, and the school attatched to her nursery is THE school that has the best reports for all SN kids,it even has a sensory chill out room! how fab is that(its a mainstream.feeling very positive now.thanks for all your thoughts today- sure it helped!x

That is lovely news dsr. I remember your first thread about whether to have the tests or not. I am so glad you did it and now know what has been ruled out. Good nights sleep ahead?

Cor, what a weight off your shoulders. Fantastic.

at the 2 yr waiting list. That is a long time! At least, her nursery sounds fab and they are already helping your DD.

it cant be helped about the waiting list, there is a limited amount of resorces and so many kids needing help. im lucky as dd4 isnt as bad as we first thought, some other kids are a lot worse than she is.today im feeling very blessed, thanks everyone for all the support you have given me over the last months.i wouldnt have coped so far without you all!
