SN children

Do any of you have a disabled parking bay for your DC?

They are proposing double yellow lines on the main road and into my road. This will effect the first 7 houses and parking will have a huge knock on effect.

I really don't want to have to be parked right up the street and somehow get DD! through to 3 into house safely on my own.

Can't have a drive, been refused, something to do with extra wide grass verge.

So applying for a bay.

Been told that they don't usually give them out for children with SNs as parents can use a buggy or a pushchair for child so therefore won't need a bay outside house.

Anyone else got one and did you fight for it and if so what won it for you in the end?

Haven't got one (don't have a car!) but a good friend has a 5 year old with Downs and she has a space.

We were offered one but I turned it down - were only expecting to live here 2 years, will be 3, but can usually get a space outside so not too bothered. think the rails up to the front door give the more observant parkers a clue.
