My eldest DD aged 9 just got a letter this morning to say that she has been given a place on a SSAFA holiday (which are for siblings of children with disabilities).

It's a sort of adventure camp holiday, she'll get to do loads of activities like abseiling, swimming, canoeing, games etc. I'm so excited for her as she doesn't get many opportunities to do stuff just for her. And she'll be able to spend time with other children in a safe supported environment that are in the same boat as her.

Whoo-hoo!

Oh she'll have a fab time Sidge. dd went on a PGL break last year for children with the same condition as her. She did loads of activities that she would normally get the chance to do.

I bet she had a great time Saggars! SSAFA also do holidays for children with SN so hopefully DD2 might get a chance to do one too when she's a bit older

There's a couple of photos of her at PGL on my profile.

Are you/dh in the forces then Sidge?

Thank you

Ds1 has a deferred place for the RAF but is currently part way through the recruitment process for the Police. I've been thinking recently he'll probably be safer in a war zone!

dd has a bit of a need for speed; like she hasn't had enough brushes with death! I don't mind the zip-wire but she currently fancies bungee jumping out of a helicopter which I think is a step too far.

That's brilliant news. I hope Sidge Jr has a fantastic time.
