DD2 had her ed psych assessment for statementing today

It went quite well I think, but made me feel really sad having her delays spelled out quite so black and white

I mean, I know how delayed she is so there were no surprises, but having it put across so formally is a bummer isn't it?

It can be a real broadside can't it.

I remember my meeting with the ed psych and the leader of the CDC assessment nursery when the ed psych told us she would recommend DS1 to attend one of two special schools in the city.

Although it was quite obvious to us this would be needed and indeed the best thing for him, up to then most of the professionals we talked to were talking about local ms nurserys with 1-1 support, so hearing someone actually say what we were thinking really took a while to get our heads around.

It does get easier though, I know you would of heard this said a million times, but it does honest.
