Did you know that John Bercow MP (himslef the father of a child with a communication disorder) has been placed in charge on an All Party Parliamentary Group to overhaul the way speech and language therapy services are run??

They are very keen for as many people as possible to take part in the online consultation which is literally only a few questions. I've provided the link here.

Please take the tiome to do so.As a salt I know that things are crap for so many of you and we really need to change it.

Just click on the bit where it says 'consultation document' and fill in

No personal experience, bumping for the evening crew

Have filled it in - thanks gave me a chance to voice my opinion of the seriously underfunded local salt services.

done - ooh, I really did sock it to them in this survey. 3 year waits for SALT, then one hour a term!

I know, I know.
It's a bloody waste of time isn't it because when you get it it isn't enough to make a difference.

I wonder if he will be able to change anything? A complete overhaul is what I suggested!

Done, but not sure they really asked the quesitons as to what we want and what they can do to help our kids!

Well tell them what you do want them!
The format is just a rough guide.

Done also - thanks for letting us know. Often the trouble with these consultations is that nobody actually knows they are happening.

sounds fab I will have a look later and definitely fill in.

I started that thread a few weeks back 'Does your speech therapist actually seem to do anything' and since I've had a letter from ds1's speech therapist saying she's developed a condition in which she cannot see her pre-school caseload anymore and hopefully someone will take over.

How odd!

Maybe she read my message, realised who I was and now hates me Oh well! We have NO speech therapist any more!

What condition was that????

I have an Aussie SALT friend and she said they were having a clear out in her dept. recently and found some referrals which had 'Never to be seen' scrawled across them!!

Doesn't happen in the UK-I promise!

Depends on the system they work- ours doesn'tr deal with ASD but there's a system to refer now they've finally decided that's what he definitely has ( refer to the SALT PAED and school tried to get for us when the whole thing started LOL )

Sounds odd though
