I have a nephew in law who was born OK but had a fit/episode and lives in Germany. He's just turned one and I need a present for him, he's coming to visit. All his family are kind of waiting to see how he goes but they have been told that he can't see (much/at all?), not sure how much he can hear etc. Any ideas? I woprk with SN kids doing music sessions, but what can I get him that isn't really expensive and that would be OK for him? Any ideas gratefully received..Don't know but thinks it's classed as CP now, but his Nan is too upset to tell this side of the family much and I would love to help them. Baby's Nan is my ex-h's sister and I've known her since I was 19.

I don't know if you can find these anymore, but a scratch and sniff book. You could also try getting a book with different things to touch. For example a book with a furry rabbit, etc.

a rainmaker if he can hear. Feely book definitely a good idea.

the RNIB do toys for blind/visually impaired children, might be worth looking at their website or giving them a call to see what they would recommend.
